First pizza I ever had that filled me up with one piece.

I never understood the appeal of PH, so many non-chain better places to choose from.

Price and lack of options.
In my hometown, PH was the only pizza place.
Now that the town is extra touristy, there are better quality options but you lay 3x the price for half the quantity

Yall can all f off calling their pizza, crap. I used to get the child's personal pan as a kid, I love it. I had a whole pizza to myself.

The pizza at PH was legit back then. That’s when if you dined in and ordered at the table it took a good 30-40 min to get your pizza because they actually rolled out the dough for the crust and put fresh ingredients on it and baked it in an oven rather than today where the crust is premade and frozen along with the ingredients and meats all being processed crap that gets thrown together and run through a conveyor belt oven to cook it in 10 min

Correct. If you grew up in the 80’s and 90’s certain things were so much better than the private equity versions today. I can remember in high school in the mid 90’s Pizza Hut buffet was $5.99 and it had pizza, tossed salad, Caesar salad, two different types of pasta, garlic bread and sometimes buffalo wings as well. That was a steal back then and quality was much different. Same thing with Subway the sandwiches back then were actually good unlike the slop they serve today.

There are a lot of folks ITT upset about folks pointing out Pizza Hut's pizza is crap. It IS today. Their pizza isn't what it used to be. I'm all for the nostalgia of this in the OP, IF they bring back their old recipes too. I'm not some liberal hipster local pizza elitist douchebag. Born in '83, so I get it with the personal pan pizza BookIt rewards salad bar etc. I like Dominos and Little Caesars both in a pinch. Pizza Hut just isn't good these days. Hopefully they go back to their old recipes because as a kid in the 90s it was tGOAT. For those of you upset about calling out their bad pizza, I'd ask when the last time you actually had Pizza Hut was. I tried it less than 6 months ago and it was baaaaad.

I'll be in Pennsylvania this summer for my kids wrestling camp, but this place will be 3 hours away. Don't know if it's worth a 6 hour round trip to check it out

Exactly! I don’t miss the building, I miss the pizza! Bring back the thick, yeasty and greasy pizza. Today’s PH is unrecognizable compared to my childhood.

When all of these chain pizza places went to premade crust and sauce, they lost their appeal to me.

I worked at Godfather’s Pizza back in the day and we made everything from scratch. Measure the temperature of the water, mix in dry yeast, let it rise, etc. We also weighed spices and mixed the sauce daily. Everything was fresh.

Dominos was the first to use a premade crust to speed the delivery. When Pizza Hut followed with frozen premade cruse, that was the beginning of the end. I won’t pay a restaurant price for a frozen pizza.
