This could be cool, especially if they put the restaurants on the right paces.

No argument from me that it’s bad today just like a host of other fast food or fast casual places are far worse today than they were in the 80’s and 90’s etc.

Most these places aren’t even serving real ingredients it all just a mashup of fake processed stuff with zero taste other than sugar or salt. But, 35 to 40 years ago while maybe not great it was much much better quality than today. As someone else mentioned I can remember going to Pizza Hut after little league games and it took 40 mins to get your pizza not because it was crowded but because they were making every pizza by hand etc.

All the fast food restaurants styling used to be so much better

I think the lack of color and uniqueness these days has a more profound effect on people’s mental health and general happiness than we admit. Everything being so corporate and grey just sucks. I remember being excited as a kid to go to McDonald’s. Fond memories visiting my grandparents and they’d take me. I’d about suffocate from the cigarette smoke in the back seat of their huge Grand Marquis on the way there because they wouldn’t roll the windows down. And my grandfather would squall the tires at every red light for fun. McDonald’s had a smoking section then and they’d sit and smoke and eat a burger while I played in the play place

Youngsters today don't understand that eating out for most 70s/early 80s kids was a rare and special event.

This. It’s funny to think back how excited I got over going to Pizza Hut or dad bringing home a bucket of KFC for dinner about once a month.

It was a huge deal if we had to go to Jackson for something and would eat at Red Lobster or Olive Garden. They were next door to each other and I always fought with my sister cause she wanted RL but I preferred OG. Usually ended up my dad and sister would be at RL and my mom and I would go to OG

can remember in high school in the mid 90’s Pizza Hut buffet was $5.99 and it had pizza, tossed salad, Caesar salad, two different types of pasta, garlic bread and sometimes buffalo wings as well

Our Pizza Hut still had this for 6.99 until Covid

I miss it. Best lunch deal in town

When all of these chain pizza places went to premade crust and sauce, they lost their appeal to me. I worked at Godfather’s Pizza back in the day and we made everything from scratch. Measure the temperature of the water, mix in dry yeast, let it rise, etc. We also weighed spices and mixed the sauce daily. Everything was fresh.

The last big chain to do it right was Papa John’s. It’s ruined now too though

I’ll go hangout and just hit the salad bar just for nostalgia sake. So many good memories with grandparents and great grandparents at a Pizza Hut buffet. It was our Sunday after church tradition.

Pizza provides little to no nutritional value.
