If they can get the taste back up to where it was around the turn of the 80s/90s, I'm in. Their food started sucking somewhere in the 90s and never went back.

Saving those calories for your boyfriend's jizz? The only "men" who worry about calories like you are homosexuals. 100% of the time.
Nah. I like looking good for my wife.
But thinking its cool to eat like a jackass is probably why the majority of this board is in a sexless marriage.

You’re fat, aren’t you?

all just a mashup of fake processed stuff with zero taste other than sugar or salt. But, 35 to 40 years ago while maybe not great it was much much better quality than today
You're romanticizing the "old days." Considering the 70s-90s some sort of age of artisanal purity is reinventing history, likely based on your 12 year old nostalgia of slamming pizza with your little league team when you didn't have any bills to pay and were starving after a long day of playing snooze ball.
Did the 16 year old making your pizza back then maybe go heavy on the cheese because he wasn't paying for it, while the restaurants of today have pre measured scoops to enforce compliance? Sure, but the days of smoking with your kids in a wood paneled station wagon while eating fake cheese at Shakeys were obviously the halcyon days.

Have fun paying $40+ for two large pizzas. I support buying local but locally owned pizza companies can get fricked with their prices.
Large pizza, breadstick, two dessert pizzas was $60
Equivalent at Pizza hut is $47. I'll pay an extra $13 to enjoy what I eat.

I remember going to Godfather’s for pizza. It was right across the tracks on Essen if you were coming from Perkins

Give me a Shakey's revival and I'll be a happy man!

Has a Shakey's in Auburn up until a few years ago when it closed

There were so many good things about the 80s. One of those rare times that we knew it was good.
We just didnt have a whole lot to compare to back in the day and didnt have a whole lot of resources to find out what was better. Guess looking back that's why brands stuck with older generations. These days there are so many choices. No real loyalty to any really.
