Why not? I carry my work laptop (piece of shite Lenovo) in mine. On trips carry cables chargers and other shite for our iPads and phones.
If it bothers you that much, just pop some Zoloft.

I got a timbuk2 similar to the one above a few years back, it's got a strap for across the chest for when I ride the Kaw to work (sportbike, no saddlebags thank you).
Oh for the fashion conscious in this thread w the smartass comments about backpacks, I'm one of the lucky humans that doesn't give two shites about what anybody else thinks of me. I do what I want. Ya'll should try it...it's quite freeing.

I carry my laptop around in mine, it's easier than carrying a briefcase and can carry more shite.

When I first graduated from college co-workers who carried fancy laptop bags and other sort of briefcases gave me grief about carrying the back pack to work. I’ve considered going the brief case route, but I’m ok with my backpack.
