Perhaps a better question is why would you want to consider staying the Louisiana.

Gotta love the people who say those OMGohnoz the job market for EE is sooo terrible in Hammond, Louisiana. No shite Sherlock. How about you move to a location that actually provides opportunity for EE’s.

You can thank Gov. Honor Code for running chemical and petroleum expansions out of the state. I don't like Rispone but he's got my vote.

All I want to do is live in Louisiana, but I constantly end up with jobs out of state. Currently in DC while my family is back home. The amount of people who fly home every Friday in DC will blow your mind.

Want to stay in Louisiana? Try personal injury law.

Depends what type of engineer. Plenty of engineering opportunities in LA in right field.

Well, I'm from Louisiana and so is my wife. So both sides of our families lives here for the most part. It just sucks that there's not much growth in this state

You're not gonna find the good positions in electrical engineering (or really most engineering) post on the internet. Just like a good hunting lease....You don't find ads for those. You find ads for spots that are a problem to fill, or keep filled, i'e. the crappy spots.

If you are looking for a better position, you need to "network" (I hate that word, but its the best way to describe it). Those good positions are filled by word of mouth.

It was like that years before he took office. Louisiana politics in general doesn't do anything to help grow the State, it doesn't matter which side is in office.

Big companies don’t understand that Louisiana people want to live and die in Louisiana. They want you loyal to them, not to your family or home. They want to force you to move on their terms to climb the ladder. In Louisiana, this causes companies to either lose skilled people to nearby competitors or to have competent people plateau in their careers because they refuse to move out of state in order to advance. The reality for most people in this state is that you will never reach your full economic potential unless you move to Houston for several years minimum, or more likely, permanently. .

I don't know what is wrong with Louisiana but everywhere else is in absolute dire need of electricals.

I have 3 positions open I'm trying to hire for in KC and we can't even get applications from terrible candidates. Pulling folks from their current jobs is terribly difficult as everyone is too busy to look around at job options.

Jesus, does EE really make that much? I'm looking at probably 75-80K as a CE with 4-5 years in Louisiana.
