Can’t park hoss? My first truck was a single cab, long bed. Much easier to back park it.
Edit: also worked in the plants for many years and it was mandatory at many of them because it’s pure chaos when many, people are hitting the turn style and racing to the parking lot to exit on a two lane hwy.

Parking at a ballgame or a busy store or high traffic spot I back in because of pedestrians not watching where the hell they or their stupid kids are going. Backing in is easier and safer than backing out with blind spots.

it’s a safety rule because you can evacuate faster by pulling forward than by backing up then putting in forward and driving away.
multiply that by however many cars are in the lot.

I prefer backing in. The likelihood of hitting something or someone is much lower vs pulling in and backing out.

There are some towns around DFW that have angled street parking spots that by law you have to back into.

Some parking lots are hard to back out of, depending on size and traffic.
If I see an easy spot to back into, I'll do it just so I can easily get out of there when it's time to leave and the parking lot may be packed.

Backing in means almost always backing in between two vehicles with a lower level of visibility.
The alternative is backing up into an open area and driving off.
Ive tried to be understanding but youre just... wrong. Its NOT easier, I can fly into my spot, I can fling it in reverse and whip out too. 0 effort.
You can claim that in a busy parking lot that its safer to back in so you can leave with higher visibility.
You CANNOT say its easier to back in and leave facing forward, its factually wrong.
Guys, its ok to admit you just want to adhere to a social standard. Its why you bought an impractical truck and an awful looking watch so youre the most colorful peacock. We all do it, just admit it and stop downvoting those who call it out lol

Yep. I'm a steel plant baw and my company implemented this policy 2 or 3 years ago. Before, no parking incidents, after, we get an email twice a week that someone backed into someone else's car. It's something that some loser safety guy comes up with to make themselves feel better. I only back in at work. Nowhere else
ETA: I always looked at it as a "culture " thing that they would do to hide the expired or no tag
