Are you seriously claiming taxes started with the income tax? And it’s the only variety of tax?

You think taxes didn’t exist after the Boston tea party or something?

Hell yeah, that means I’m almost done after this year. I paid well over half that in 23 alone.

Except roads bridges police fire national defense and stuff like that. But definitely not a good return on investment to say the least.

I think the government should be required to tell you exactly where your dollars go. None of this it goes into the pool bullshite. I want to know that I bought like 1 wheel for a hummer. Or maybe a helicopter blade, or something like that.

Think about this next time you see the government spend a million to study gay tree frogs.

Some poor sap (or two) is going to be paying taxes all of his life to fund it.

I am very middle class and paid +$2400 to the IRS after everything was filed. Frick the IRS and this bullshite tax system while we are paying for Ukraine.

And gets the peace of mind of knowing I can fund nation building around the world while we suffer.

GTFOH, if you post on this board you have almost certainly lived through some of the greatest time to be alive in human history.

I'm the first to rail in the idiocy of income taxes, however, we've all received a pretty solid ROI all things considered.

I wonder does this include hidden taxes? Hidden taxes would be the taxes passed through in the cost of an item. For example, how much would a $2.00 can of beans cost if you backed all the taxes businesses paid to get that can of beans to the retail shelves for you to buy.

How is taking the automatic $27,700 ‘getting fricked’? If you take the standard deduction, that means you don’t have more than that to deduct, right? Not being a dick, just trying to understand how that’s ’getting fricked’. We’ve taken the standard for the past few years since the standard was increased so much. Makes our taxes a hell of a lot easier.
