Plain as day. People want responsible government.

o be fair, none of those are nearly as populated nor situated as squarely in metro BR area as the proposed St George area. This is a very large percentage of the taxpayer base for BR and it will cripple BR proper.

Whether or not you care or think that's a good thing is really The debate at hand.

SG will keep only 5% of the revenue currently going to the CP budget. BR will have to learn to be more fiscally responsible.

then sell your shite. If SG fails, the producers in EBR will be moving elsewhere and you'll still be holding the bag.

You don't get to vote.

I'm late to this thread and I'm sure it's been said, but it needs more attention. The newspapers, TV, and digital media should not be in the business of telling people which way to vote. It blows my mind that people on both sides of the aisle have let the media become mouthpieces for political gains. The job of the media is to report the news and nothing more. They should NEVER be suggesting which way to vote on any issue. They should present the pros and cons of the issue and let the voters decide for them selves.

Most of them were going to do that anyway.

A no vote just accelerates the process by removing most hopes that anything can be salvaged.

The media SHOULD present data and let people decide, but that has been dead and gone for years thanks to journalism schools who think their purpose is to “make a difference” rather than report the goddamn news.

The C-P budget is out of control right now even though they can’t hire enough cops.
Since 2009 the budget jumped from 700 Million to 926 Million dollars(a 33% increase) in 2019 despite the population of EBR increasing less than 2%.

My issue with St. George. They do not have the infrastructure. And their plan is horrible. How are they going to pay for schools, teachers, police, fire department, trash, and all the small things I’m leaving out? Also, do they realize the second this happens EBR police won’t get their calls and only the state or sheriff office will? Talk about crime going crazy. Also, the school issue is huge. Every kid that attends a magnet school would no longer be able to attend it. And what about paying for teachers. Hate to tell them, every profitable business that brings in lots of taxes already annexed into EBR in preparation so st George would have no choice but to tax the residents a ridiculous percentage just to stay afloat.

The number of lies in this post is impressive.

If you had doubt, all you have to do is smell the desperation in this dishonesty. It tells you everything you need to now about who is going to get the better of this move.

While I'm not disagreeing with you, newspapers have given endorsements for as long as I can remember.

And yet politicians in this state insist we don’t have a spending problem, we have a revenue problem.

You couldn't be any dumber and less informed if you tried. There is no EBR Police, its city police. They only respond IN THE CITY. This place is not in the city. The EBR Sheriff protects it. The Sheriff has already said services will continue since the area is still in the parish. The State Police at uniform level do not handle criminal complaints (that they don't stumble upon). Again, you're an idiot.

Someone remind me... when Kippy did his last set of annexations, did the Advocate’s new building off Siegen get annexed?

Saw another Anti SG sign pop up today. Of course it's in the yard of another weird-arse old white liberal whose house looks like dogshit.

The normal people who aren't eaten up with stupid/white guilt better show up on October 12 to kick theses losers' asses.

Who is bent out of shape? My kids go to catholic school. I could just do without the anti-FSM nonsense that goes with it.
