walk ons (Westside) now owns fat daddys. over rated. Crime is ridiculous in Plaquemine. The island (2) are cookie cut homes, no yard. The restaurant @ the golf course needs renovating. Even with the new owners, it hasn't. The air hardly works or they keep it @ 78... Train runs all hours like mentioned before. Riverside is the absolutely best thing in Plaquemine. The power grid in Plaquemine is horrible, ask someone who pays it..
and Back Brusly is better than front Brusly!

Y'all really need to stop giving chris attention.

The reality of living in iberville parish is that as long as you're making 6 figures, it's not a bad place to be at all.

Would I ever live in a town again?

God no.

The "card shop" was the best spot ever made run by a bunch of carneys.

You talking about the one that was next to Fat Daddy’s by the tracks? If so, me and my friends used to spend so much time in there that the owner would let us run the shop on some weekends when he went do card shows. Paid us with packs of cards.

Simco's! I used to go just about every Saturday and get a shrimp po-boy or Sharon's Special from Fat Daddy's then hit up Simco's getting the newest Beckett and a few packs of cards. Good times.

All the years I went there. I have never known its name. What a wild place it used to be.

We were kids but I always got a weird predatory vibe from those people- just they were looking to take kids money. I think they hated dealing with kids but we enjoyed being able to go in there.

Not much in recent housing developments.
Public Schools about C level.
St John Catholic school
Good high paying plant jobs
40 min commute to Baton Rouge side and the traffic sux at rush hour
Lots of Cajuns (Coonasses) and Italian Cajuns (Dago Coonasses) Dont fret... these are not offensive terms
Maybe 50:50 White/Black
Casinos near by

Most people who work there live there or live in greater BTR (like me). There are more modern housing developments in surrounding communities.

Best housing in town is at The Island Golf Course development

Go on…

We lived in the apartments behind Pizzazios for a couple years and I spent a bunch of days in their arcade room.

I’m yet to find anything like their taco pizza. I’ve mentioned it to my kids a couple times and they look at me funny like those things don’t go together.

What killed the Westbank vibe for me was the traffic on LA-1 and having to cross the Miss River Bridge or take the ferry.

This situation pisses me off. Years ago they talked about building a new bridge in Brusly, but the residents that lived by the projected site threw a fit. Evidently the state has hired consultants to do studies (if I had to guess, someone has a friend who owns a consultant group and they found something to push for them to get a project with that state because what the study revealed was nothing no one didn't know already).

The good thing about the ferry now is that they run two. So instead of every 30 mins, there is one on both sides every 15mins. They stop running both from like 10AM - 2PM, but a new bridge would make it so much better. Once you get on the east side from the ferry, Nicholson isn't that far, you can then get on Bluebonnet

Hate to hear that. My family ran that business for about 30 years, until they eventually retired last year.

I did about a 6 month stint in those apartments as a kid in the mid 80s. That was when I got a Nintendo which cut my Pizzazios arcade time way down.
