I spent summers there as a kid, still have family there. It's unbelievably depressing to visit now , whatever charm it had back in the day is long gone. You're close ti bayou pigeon and sorrel , that's all I got

Some of my additional favorite things about Plaquemine or used to be in Plaquemine:

Ghetto Pizza Hut. Cheese. Drugs. No delivery. How do you want it? Doesn't matter. This what you getting.

Come on down to Burger King hottest birthday spot in town.

Library? We got one of those. Even got a playground that still uses lead in its paint.

Civic Center where graduation parties used to happen.

GM dealership nobody could afford. Go to Hanks where workin folk buy their vehicles.

Hood basketball at the park. Sketchiest scariest bunch of mess you ever seen.

Weird family with a Gorilla statue on Hwy 1 that make no sense.

Jack in the Box. Where fights used to happen every other night 2002-2003.

Hair Cut with Pops. This Old man name Sammy used to have a store on Hwy 1 by a bar. Everybody knew him. Cut my dads hair until he lost it all around 55.

Scary looking old Asylum/hospital out back the Catholic Church.

Plaquemine is the first city along LA1 where the water starts making the broads crazier/trashier. Keep going further south the worse it gets. This is coming from a born and raised Brusly man (Front Brusly for those who know better), or one of the finest towns in Louisiana if you ask anyone

The Popeye’s there used to serve breakfast.

My dad and I would stop there on our way when we went fishing. That was many years ago but the biscuits were good.

The whole park has a complete makeover.

Na, I knew most of those dudes out there between 95-2000. Some white dudes went out there. My nephew used to go play. They cool if you cool.

Sammy is cool, but you went to Jeff & Mr Frank to know what was going on, to gamble and get coke in a bottle for $0.25 that's still available today.

Jack in the Box is closed. Its a Wendy's now. People used to really go fight off rock road and behind the levee.

The Gorilla is a god damn legend son.

Are you asking about the Parish down by the mouth of the Mississippi River, or the town across the river from Baton Rouge?

I once ran a punt back with less than 3 minutes left in the 4th Quarter to win the District Championship in high school.

And should be NFL Hall of Famer Brian Mitchell played there. And he is a great cook.

Here is the Punt Return...it was controversial.
