Plaquemine is a city in and the parish seat of Iberville Parish, Louisiana, United States.[4] It is part of the Baton Rouge metropolitan statistical area. At the 2010 United States census, the population was 7,119;[5] the 2020 census determined its population was 6,269.[6]

1,000 population drop in past 10yrs approx? Doesn't sound like a good place to relocate. Why the big exodus in population?

The guy has a built in sympathy card being handicapped but is somehow so terrible that everyone eventually starts to hate him.

You will eventually hate him and his waste of space existence

As someone who was born and raised in Plaquemine behind the tracks, down by the dirty dirty... this is the perfect GIF when people ask me to tell them about Plaquemine.

Zekes Snoballs used to hit as a kid. The "card shop" was the best spot ever made run by a bunch of carneys. Video Visions was the best movie store in the land. Until Movie Land put them out of business.

It's hard to describe how much Movie Land blew my absolute mind as a 9 year old.

Old porn movies just sitting out in the middle of the store.

I really wish I could capture that sense of wonderment again just once in my life.

There might be a new bridge across the Mississippi River there in 100 years.

Holy shite dude. Unless you like video poker, you're just going to someone's house. WBR (West Baton Rouge) is ... not great. I think it survives because EBR just keeps digging it's own grave.

150 years ago Plaquemine had serious money and much nicer than Baton Rouge. Now it is mainly known for having houses within a close drive to the plants.

Charters are decent. St John is relatively cheap.

For restaurants we have Cabos, a terrible sushi place, and the Clubhouse. Oh and Fat Daddy’s which is highly overrated.

If you don’t work here I don’t see why you’d live here.
