Sorry the facts hurt your feelings. My thoughtful solution is to keep post-adolescent dipshits who call themselves "Big Balls" out of any meaningful position to effect change. Disastrous, ill-considered change.

So you can't answer his question?

I gave an answer.

A more complete answer would be: unfrick everything the doge-dorks did and make shite work again.

How many people on staff are needed to execute a simple mission such as testing Taylor Farms lettuce sample for this microbe?

Tell us EXACTLY how the DOGE cuts caused the FDA to become unable to test a sample of lettuce for a specific microbe.

I work in Public Health, The CDC department that tracked cyclospora was downsized from 11 to 3.

In July of last year, RFK Jr. changed the monitoring of cyclospora and other foodborne illnesses from mandatory to optional. Before hand, the FoodNet system tracked infections caused by, shigella, vibrio, campylobacter, cyclospora, shigella, and yersinia amongst others.

It should be noted that only 10 states were enrolled in that tracking program. Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, Minnesota, New Mexico, Oregon, Tenneesee, and some counties in New York and California.

Not FoodNet only has reporting requirements for Salmonela and STEC (Shiga Toxin producing E-Coli)

What is your evidence that DOGE/federal layoffs have materially reduced the quality of life of average American?

I'd say those average Americans shitting their pants with a known, avoidable contaminant are feeling materially affected.

Probably a good move as long as RFK and his gang of dipshits are running everything.

We have a food born illness outbreak every summer.

You really are showing your arse in here.

And if you want to know why our food supply is full of vegetables Mexicans shite on, it's because of Bill Clinton.

quote:

After NAFTA, the number of reported produce-associated outbreaks increased dramatically. CDC researchers identified 606 outbreaks associated with fresh leafy vegetables or leafy-based salads between 1973 and 2012.

Anyone is welcome to challenge what I'm saying. But none of you retards will.

quote:

Since 2012, the pattern has become even more striking. Instead of a steady increase in the number of outbreaks, the United States has experienced a series of large, multistate outbreaks involving the same commodity over and over again: leafy greens.

quote:

One recent analysis concluded that leafy greens alone are responsible for as many as 2,307,558 illnesses annually in the United States. The economic cost of these illnesses is estimated to be up to $5.278 billion.” Thus, making them one of the single largest sources of foodborne disease.

And yet this one is orders of magnitude worse. Because of destaffing the administrative agencies charged with catching this stuff. See in thread above where someone who works there can fill you in.

CDC needs to get the job done, even with staffing shortages, when it comes to food safety. Tell the chain of command that the shortage is threatening the integrity of the operations and that you consider it an emergency.

Somebody in the CDC could move some people or money around. No way the management should have allowed a unit to be cut from 11 to 3. That is mismanagement within the CDC.

Is anybody surprised that the CDC is mismanaged?

This is patently false. The CDC didn't cut those roles.

There was definitely room for improvement.

The slash and burn tactics of doge only exacerbated the problems.

Must be false. My dog had diarrhea this weekend and didn’t eat Taco Bell.
