You have obviously never been in the military or worked in a similar kind of profession where human lives are at stake. Failure to accomplish the Mission is not an option.

The crew needs to get the job done. I would tell them that I'm raising the alarm with the chain of command to alert them that we have an emergency personnel shortage that could impact the mission.

That does not change our obligation to accomplish the mission.

If that's unacceptable to a person then they need to find a new line of work - this kind of work is not for them.
