What did y’all do? I cut grass and worked at camps. Loved both jobs. Feel bad for some kids because gas is $4.70 for regular where I am at, so no lawn cutting business's or cruising the town for them probably.

I worked year round at a farm that sold Christmas Trees and sod on Juban. Was all of half a mile from the house so I could easily ride a bike there.

Small town, there were 2 places really. Furniture plant and trailer plant. Neighbors dad owned the trailer plant, so that was it for me

Did insulation and scaffold work at plants along the river, made you appreciate going back to school at the end of each summer or Christmas break.

No summer jobs for me, just year round ones. High school I worked at a grocery store. Started out bagging groceries, then moved to cashier and stocker.
College I worked all kinds of jobs. Hotel front desk, hotel banquet bartender and server, restaurant server, bar back, painter.

Most teens today don't work. Also, most do NOT want to learn to drive. The iphone generation sucks on this front. They use the internet but don't know what any of it is called. It's bizarre. For example, they might be on chrome but not know it's called a browser.

Worked at a golf course shagging golf balls.

Worked all through highschool at a warehouse my friend's dad owned. 3-8 during the schoolyear and normal hours in the summer.
Bizarre job, mostly stuffing junk mail, bundling and bagging junk mail off the printer, and literally putting plastic Easter eggs together for an Easter promotion.
shite pay, but there was a group of us who worked there the whole time, and our friend's dad wouldn't fire us despite our best efforts. We were usually still better employees than the hourly workers he'd get brought in through the workforce services thing in town.

14&15 I assisted the groundskeeper at a church camp
16&17 Was Taco Bell, then switched to a music store in the mall until I left for college.
College I worked at a bowling alley cleaning up spit cans, ash trays, beer bottles/spilled beer, etc left behind by the "adults" of the area, then I moved to the back and helped fix the machines so I wouldn't have to put up with the stupid shite those drama queens love to start.

I washed airplanes and cleaned them up after flights while I was in high school. Small planes like turboprops.
I worked in a pipe yard in Morgan City during summers while in college. Cleaned thread protectors and drifted pipe for an inspection company.

In HS I worked with my Dad in his woodworking shop.
In college I worked in a lumber yard delivering to all corners of the state. I would work 90-100 hour weeks all summer. I made enough money to last the school year (gas, food, rent, etc)

Pumped gas at my uncle's station. Made eighty cents an hour. Worked for a hardware store where I helped an old man pull water wells and replace the pumps. Then worked for a traffic survey company counting cars at intersections. Then worked for the railroad switching boxcars and riding trains.

In high school I worked at the local pool doing concession stand/ticket sales and the like. There were 3 guys and 2 young ladies on the crew that rotated jobs. The "boss" was pretty lax and it was amazing that none of us got fired (including the day the fire dept. showed up...)
In college I got a job cutting grass and emptying trash cans from the maint dept. at the local hospital. It progressed to changing florescent light bulbs and other small jobs (like shoveling out the medical waste incinerator) Buy the end of my time working there, they actually let me try and fix things on my own. The hospital was old and there was broken stuff everywhere. It help me learn all sorts of fix it skills that have proved invaluable later in life. I still say it was one of the best jobs I ever had.
