I say "Happy Christmas" and "Merry New Year" instead
Posted on 12/27/23 at 9:41 am to athenslife101
Christmas season started December 25th and runs through January 8th, 2024.
Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas.

Been watching too many Belichick pressers?
How is busting out Merry Christmas to someone after 12/25 any more of a waste of time than saying some variation of "Hey, how's it going" when you really do not give a shite about how that person is doing?

No, and I act like I am deaf when someone says Happy Holidays.

Do you even epiphany?
Posted on 12/27/23 at 11:13 am to athenslife101
Well, if you want to be technical...from a church standpoint, the season of Christmas lasts from the evening of 12/24 through the evening of 1/5 when the Epiphany is celebrated.
So this is actually the right time to be saying Merry Christmas.

If I ran into my neighbor, who I did not see right before Christmas, hell yeah I'm yelling Merry Christmas!
This was exactly what I was thinking because we were running around on Christmas Eve and Christmas and I didn't see my next-door neighbors until yesterday so the first thing I said when I saw them was Merry Christmas the same way I tell someone Happy Birthday after their birthday if I didn't communicate with them on their birthday.

Just confuse them and answer like the sergeant in we were soldiers:
“How do you know what kind of goddamn day it is?”
“How do you know what kind of goddamn day it is?”

So 12 days of Christmas? They should write a song about it.
Posted on 12/27/23 at 11:36 am to athenslife101

There are 12 Days of Christmas

Posted on 12/27/23 at 1:13 pm to athenslife101

Posted on 12/27/23 at 1:16 pm to athenslife101
I ask people if they had a "Merry Christmas". Does that count?

This year I’ve had like 10 people tell me Merry Christmas in the last couple of days.
There's been so much politics with having to say "Merry Christmas" I think people are scared to say Happy Holidays. LOL.
I say Happy Crimbo
Or
Nollaig Shona Duit
Depending on the company I'm in

Yes
And not a day before
