That could be a massive list with all the banks, insurers, textile manufacturers, shipping companies, merchants, railroads and exporters that were involved. Most of them were probably absorbed by companies still active today.
That was powerful. I saw it was 10 minutes and thought I'd click off after 30 seconds or so. I watched it in amazement. How he was able to articulate my feeling and perception of what is going on was impressive. If someone asks how I think our country is going, I'll just pull up this video and say watch, that's what I think.

whatever the frick those are
I'm mean, can he give me a list of buildings Christian Nationalists have bombed? How about airplane hijacks? Or groups of people they've ensalved or mutilated? All in the name of Christian Nationalism.
re: PSA: Do NOT buy a GM with a 6.2 engine

My brother in law had his seize up without warning earlier this year. I implored him to demand the dealer install a 5.3 replacement instead of the 6.2. He didn't even ask. His tahoe sat in the shop waiting for an engine as they drove around in a rental for 12 weeks. I'm sure this will happen again very soon.

To be fair, she’s an actress and guest on the broadcast, not an actual color analyst. Also, that’s Macauly Culkin’s wife.

Not sure about Georgia laws, but the state needs to completely take over that district.

What did he say in this X that was wrong?
He provided zero context. Says it’s not about the number and then gives no other viewpoint.

The boiler hat scene in the 1999 remake was a great scene.

The devil is in the details. There has to be more to the story than him being banned for being a Trump supporter. That makes no sense at all.
TSC did a 180 on their woke policies after the bud light fiasco back in 2024. They were getting hit hard on social media and the stock took a slight fall so the CEO pivoted and tweeted out cancellation of DEI policies, cancelled pride festival sponsorships, and dropped carbon emission initiatives. I would probably assume this is a bad actor employee or something else is up with this story.
The picture is confusing. I can't tell who dined and dashed.

I really like the The Revenant.
re: Grill Talk: Can some of you share your recent experiences buying grills?
Posted by Trauma14 on 7/9/26 at 6:10 pm to DiamondDog
Master Built gravity series is one the better grills I’ve seen around. Instead of pellets, you can still use briquettes/lump charcoal/wood chips. Produces a much better smoke than pellet grills and you still have the same temp control.
Im not a fan of getting locked in a car with no way out. Seems like this may backfire someday on Waymo.
re: Tragic story out of WI over the holiday weekend - 3 children drown in boating accident
Posted by Trauma14 on 7/7/26 at 3:45 pm to Chucktown_Badger
That sounds harrowing. Everyone wore the life jackets but the kids clearly rolled with the capsized boat and became lodge between the deck and the pressing water pressure. It probably sank so fast no person could physically rescue them quickly. As a parent, I can't imagine the pain, fear, and pure total helpless you'd feel floating safely in the water while your kids died.

My house has damn good insulation so 71 is already cool enough. Hotels, jam that thing down all the way.
My bro in law keeps his house at 78. We don’t visit much. I think that’s his wife’s goal.

re: Memphis recs? Beyond BBQ I'm not sure what the area has to offer

Lived in Memphis for a year and was fairly impressed with the dining scene. They have some really good restaurants.
Coastal Fish Company - popular place in Shelby Farms Park. Ate there twice and it was great both times.
Andrew Michael - upscale Italian spot in Brookhaven Circle that was very very good
Hog and Hominy - across the street from Andrew Michael and started by the same two dudes. Great drinks, great apps, great pizzas.
Some other great spots in the downtown area:
Amelia Gene’s - contemporary fine dining type of place. They do a Thursday tasting menu special that was really good when I went. They also have a normal menu.
Catherine and Mary’s - same owners as Andrew Michael and H&H. Italian place downtown.
Flight - does flights of small plates. Heard awesome things about it.
Itta Bena - I never went here but people I worked with always said it was great. It’s on Beale Street above BB Kings
Porch and Parlor - nice steakhouse in Overton Square
Folk’s Folly - old school steakhouse that is a Memphis favorite. I thought porch and parlor was a lot better.
All great recs. I love Itta Bena. It's right above BB King's bar and has a sultry blues vibe. Great southern steakhouse style restaurant.
The Memphis restaurant scene is growing fast.

I don’t mind the flop to sell a penalty. I hate the disingenuous rolling around in pain and then standing up and sprinting 2 seconds later.
Like the cover your mouth role, let’s have one that if you show any sort of pain and act like you can’t get up, then immediate substitution.
