use of these drugs without a more comprehensive approach to weight management
no sh*t. if you go back to the same old habits that made you fat to begin with you're going to get fat again. If you develop good habits and discipline while on it and keep that up you'll probably keep the weight off when stopping.

Problem isn't the glp, its the fat fricks not changing their foods.
Its ALL about foods your fat slows. Its so fricking easy

I never understand why this fact is seen as a dunk against GLP 1s??
Maybe because its very expensive and all the non lazy healthy people get mad when their insurance premiums are further exploding (RX is 34% of our company medical spend) because these people cant stop going to Popeyes for 3 piece spicy snack in between meals.

Spot the frick on.
This is why it’s truly best to embrace a slow weight loss with sustainable lifestyle changes balancing results with satisfaction for adherence. Once a goal weight is achieved, ever so slowly return to maintenance to build a new set point.

Yeah but have you tried peanut butter?
Get yourself a jar of peanut butter and a spoon and you got a goddman meal.

you will not exceed me in fondness for peanut butter. A peanut butter and banana smoothie is generally my breakfast

I'm trying to make myself like the "natural" PB but man, creamy Jiff is something special.

There will likely be a “ maintenance “ pill. Imagine the trillions in obesity- related health costs saved and all the people struggling with weight having relief. That’s really going to piss the OT off. Nothing pleases the OT quite like the suffering of fatties.

BC/BS of Texas stopped covering these as of Jan 2026.
Mine went from $27.00 for three months to $3,900.00 which I'm not paying.
I've been hungry as hell ever since I stopped but have maintained my weight.
-73 lbs

Just another drug for lazy people to cover up symptoms rather than fixing their actual problem.

I know a number of people taking GLP-1s and they've all lost a significant amount of weight.
They also do the following just in smaller amounts.
1. Drink alcohol
2. Eat fried food
3. Eat carbs
4. Eat sweets
5. Eat little protein
They don't
1. Resistance train
2. Do any cardio
3. Don't make any attempt to move. Like walk every day.
They haven't changed any of the habits that made them fat. When they get off the GLP-1s I expect the hunger will return and they'll get fat again.

I look at it through the lens of a chronic disease. Definitely part of what I use to help people improve their metabolic health and (almost always) feel better about themselves. I've seen what an impact these drugs have on people from a biochemical standpoint that are just a wreck metabolically. I hope they continue to further and fine tune drugs in this class and drive the price down so they are more widely accessible. Also requires responsible administration and monitoring on the physician side and not just writing it, escalating the dose and forgetting about it. That's where you see people with side effects and poor use cases.

I used one for about a month, I could not stand the way it made me feel so I stopped, I lost 10lbs, but the bigger win was showing I could eat a lot less than I was before the drug. After I quit, I have changed my eating habits and eat a lot less than before.
