Just got off the phone with my dad. Watson is getting pummeled, but the trees seem to be holding where they live.

Thanks man. She’s been skirting around the subject and I’m not in the mood to bring it up.

Watson, I can hear my bay Window flexing in my house. It faces southeast. Never heard that before. Scary as hell. Glad I bought new windows in 2016.

When shite really goes sideways, Entergy just stops updating the map. You can tell because there will be tons of outage badges (which are user reported) in a green area.

The center is pretty even with south BR. Once the center reaches your line of latitude conditions should start to slowly improve as the center moves north of where you are. Also theres starting to be a lack of rain on the western side of the system. Rain is what brings the wind down to the surface. It will still be windy but if you're not in a band of rain it won't be quite as windy. I'm on record as saying conditions should start to improve in south BR.

Same, I kept looking at the radar and wondering why they kept saying the worst would be after midnight. EBR got lucky with the track.

I still have power in Capital Heights.

Usually if you sneeze here, the power goes out for hours.

I am hearing all kinds of noises in Walker that I am scared to find out what they are tomorrow. I hate these night storms. Seems the past few have arrived at night too .

Next chance you get, pay $50 for a good Ankor back up battery. It will keep it charged for days.

Can confirm. My Anker is a beast. Will charge my iphone 9.5 times before needing to recharge the power bank.

Its not good, but where im at I havemt heard any snapping trees or much damage so far. Just lots a rain and wind. Hell, we were flying a kite.

I saw 68 mph sustained earlier in that area. Should be slowing down. Probably gusts up to 90-100.

I dont know what the winds are. I had a kestrel weathermeter ive been running around with all day and I quit when it was about 25mph winds. Its a crap ton worse now.

I’m so glad we left. My wife and I got in a big fight about leaving last night and I eventually won. Some friends that stayed in our subdivision in Ponchatoula are texting us and saying they can hear trees snapping all around. I can’t imagine having my 10year old and 3 year old there right now.

I’m heartbroken and so defeated right now. I’m scared to death what I’ll find when I do make it home.

You did the right thing for your kids. That’s what matters.

Wondering this as well. Earlier the news said worst of it would be from 11-2 but I’m not seeing that on radar but maybe I’m just misinterpreting things. Still getting gusts but they seem to be less frequent.

I’m with you radar wind velocities seem to be dropping
