Yeah and if the report of a transmission line over the ms River being down are true then all bets are off. Easily a month

That is what I figure. I'll trust the Tiger Stadium measurement over my own "it's loud so it's gotta be crazy" meter.

Keep in mind the Tiger Stadium number is way off the ground and measured much higher than normal. Less friction the higher you go so higher wind speed.

I get my info from here and do NOT have any idea what our local people said.

When I try to tell people and explain how great this site is with data and real time info about these horrible events, no one believes me and insists on waiting to hear what the news says. Luckily some friends listened to what I relayed from supernovasky about the back water flooding in 2016 and evacuated and it probably saved their lives

NOLA could get power back in 3-4 days or 3-4 weeks.

Seems that right now may be worst part for BR. Once it moves little more north, we will be out of this current band and not much is below it. Feel very fortunate it hasn’t been worse. People had to endure hours straight of hurricane force winds and seems like some 70mph+ gusts and loss of power are going to be the worst for BR. Prayers for all of the people along bayou Lafourche and in the LaPlace area. Hopefully, she’s weakened enough to spare the Northshore from widespread damage.

Entergy says they have provided backup power to the S&WB so it appears major flooding won't be an issue.

Mighty thoughtful of them.

I’m a Destrehan resident and after reading one of The Boats posts at 7:30a, I decided to GTFO. Left at 9a and took 55N to outrun the storm. Made it to Dallas in 9 hours.

Reports from my neighborhood are awful. Roof off on good friends house. Marine friend of mine, toughest guy I know, it’s scared and in the pantry with his fam. His super solid carport he just installed has crashed. The support posts were 8x8s and snapped in half. They are still getting pounded.

Im afraid of what lies ahead for the whole region.

Thanks for the serious updates. You saved me from a day of absolute horror.

How fast do you think the wind has been around there? I'm west of you by about 10 miles and right now we are getting pine bending winds but I have no idea how fast they are. The wunderground private network seems really inaccurate, like they have their weather stations set up inside their garage.

I’m in Thibodaux and we are still getting ridiculous gusts. Looking at radar, you would think we would be out of trouble by now.

Makes you wonder of they know they are going down if they shouldn't kill power to save them for startup again.
