He is not wrong. Way too many idiots driving around on the ice in vehicles that aren't built for it. Some of us had business to attend to today and these drivers were a huge impediment. I don't get why anyone would want to be driving around with roads iced over unless it's necessary.

I agree that’s why I was wondering do they get tickets?

I’m OK with this
….this is up there with all of these dumb unprepared naïve hippies who go hiking in the mountains and get lost despite warnings of dangerous terrain and other things
..and then it costs a small fortune for a rescue team to take their helicopters and large groups of people to rescue them
There’s been many cases where the person who needs rescuing gets stuck with the bill

I remember a small town in NE Mississippi issuing a curfew for 2” of snow once.

News showing stuck drivers today and it was an Outback and a Jeep. 4WD/AWD doesn’t fix stupid/inexperience.

Nope. Nothing handles ice except studs or chains.

Not deep snow.
Give me a center locker, locking rear, open front, and a damned good computer shifting the power around.

Our driver ignored the snowpack and buried ours in a drift. Then two idiots tried to use a kinetic strap like a regular tow strap. After 30 minutes of standing in -10 degree temps watching, I got so royally pissed off that the arse chewing I gave the drivers got them to STFU and follow simple recovery procedures/directions.
One problem, they had grenaded the front diff in the buried unit.
They hire actual MORONS to run those machines, and do effectively zero drive line upgrades.
Had myself and a farmer out of Nebraska not finally just taken over, it's likely a few people would have been seriously injured/dead.

If we find you stuck in a non 4×4 vehicle and you’re blocking traffic we are issuing citations. It has gotten past the point of ridiculous. We have told everyone countless times to stay home unless you have a 4×4 and it isn’t doing any good. Emergency Services and Entergy Linemen can’t help people if we can’t get down our highways.

If you are going to do this shouldn't you give more notice then the day of.
I guess in this day and age of stupidity, maybe.
It should be common sense. I’m an amazing driver on snow. However, I’m staying home if it’s ice because I’m not stupid and nothing out there is worth a dumb accident that will raise my insurance.

swapped to snow tires during the winters and never had a problem.
That’s the biggest factor in my opinion. A subaru with snow tires is more agile than a 3500 truck with snow tires but I’ll do better in the 3500 with snow tires than someone without snow tires every time.

Next year it’ll be non Tesla FSD vehicles on ice.
I assume his is the AWD dual motor Tesla though I don’t recall him saying so.

Go ahead and ticket the trucks with empty beds.
Advanced level snow/ice driving knows to put some weight in the back of the bed.

This is just stupid.
This is absolutely stupid.
I hope someone challenges this and wins.
I agree that people driving are causing issues if they get stuck. But for some hick town department saying if you are stuck and are not in a 4 wheel drive you will get a ticket is embarrassing.
