there is zero legal standing for what the sheriff did, just like there’s no legal standing for that retaliatory arrest noted earlier. Read his comments from that article he told the appeals court he would do it again

He doesn’t give a frick and doesn’t think the rules apply to him. Just astounding that he doesn’t care if everyone knows it too

STPSO is going to get sued for big money here, with no legal defense. Unless there’s testimony and/or video that shows the dude he attacked was the aggressor there’s nothing really else to say. Circumstances don’t matter

IF this was what set him off, how can anyone here justify it? It's no.better than the violent respect/street beef culture we rail about. Even worse, the sheriff knows he has the law behind him and doesnt need to settle things in the bars/street. A well functioning society can't stand by and permit the same leader entrusted to wield the necessary state sanctioned violence of law enforcement to lash out in lawless violence to settle his own scores. Such impetuous fools must not be trusted with the reign of state sanctioned violence.

Yeah I heard about this last night and looked up this guy on social media because I used to work with a Bobby Couvillion, I thought it might be him but it isn't. Reading stuff from this guy, he appears to be a first class jackass.

Don't take as I am defending Smith, I am not. I have no idea what happened. If Smith did this he should be immediately removed from office and locked up.

Bobby Couvillion is a local pressure washer, who rants while driving his truck and calls it Driving with Bobby. He screams I did my homework then shares false info. He tagged Randys wife in a post this week, accusing Randy of an affair. Bobby is nothing more than a glorified keyboard warrior. Bobby is also a “executive protection specialist” and got beat up by the fat, drunk sheriff.

If he did that, and it isn't true, Randy should countersue for defamation, after he inevitably files suit for damages .

I'll let the OT attorneys comment on whether he actually can, as a public official, but I would think he could.

Couvillion is going to get paid, 100%. Whether that was his intentions of provoking Smith verbally to get a reaction, he successfully did so.

Ultimately, Smith is fricked.
