I’m convinced that Broom will end her term in indictment. Corruption and stupidity is a bad combination.
I don't think she's doing anything illegal. However, she IS stupid and has surrounded herself with other incompetent, stupid people.
Last time I saw Kip in public, he was still working the room like a champion. People were begging him to run again but I think the dumpster fire Mayor Doom leaves will be too great to convince him.
St George + Splitting the BR Mayor/President position into 2 separate entities is the only way to save the parish. SWB is the GREATEST thing to happen to that movement as we could have hoped. She should have a statue in the new SG downtown/city hall and listed as a co-creator.

I was thinking about this subject this weekend. I remember the last time it was going to vote, the Baton Rouge city or who ever send out flyers, bought billboards, and other means of expressing their objection to the St George movement. Is this the same case this go around or they silent?

I was told by a big name real estate agent that it will be hard for St. George to operate because the big business parks on Seigan (Target and Big Lots across the street) have already annexed themselves out of St. George because the businesses get a kickback staying in BR

They've been pretty silent but I'm sure the liberals will start tooting their horns when they realize how close they are with signatures. They didn't do much last time until it started getting down to the wire. Imagine, a group of tax paying citizens in a city literally fighting another group of tax paying citizens because Group #1 doesn't want Group #2 to exercise their right to vote on the future of their own property? Mental illness is a hot topic these days for a reason.

All the businesses St. George wanted have made it so they will stay in EBR due to tax reasons.

Are you referring to the Mayor's statement a couple of months ago about how those evil liars at St. George made everyone believe they'll have a $25million surplus when in reality its only going to be a $10million surplus?

Where is Nicholson Lakes?
Is it off Nicholson between Gardere and Bluebonnet?
Maybe you could get your neighbors to petition to get in SG down the road?

As long as any portion of it touches the city limits they can request annexation

Can the white guys on my EBRP garbage can vote.
They feel left out as our garbage service has not picked them up in over a week?
They are pissed they are not getting picked up while paying the same as someone inside The city of BR.
St George cannot be any worse than the services we get now out of the EBRP DPW.

There may not be, but be sure the Advocate will be screaming about it tomorrow.

I already moved away from St George after the first petition failed - I had signed at the exact same time on the same sheet with my neighbor and her name was listed on the final petition but mine was left off and not on the list of excluded names. I brought this up to the organizers after the first petition "failed", hopefully they're prepared for more of this b.s. the second time around.

Do we even know how many signatures are needed based upon the new map?
Posted on 6/11/18 at 11:57 am to Kramer26
According to The Advocate the estimate is 12,951

WAFB had a live stream going but it’s no longer working. Is another stream available?
