Sounds like we may receive an update on how many signatures have been collected.

I am confident the Advocate water carriers for SWB will be showing their asses.

I wonder if BR Business Report will be sane (Rolfe has not been too keen on his mayor of late).

I'll be surprised if they do. The attitude this round has pretty much been mums the word, especially on the count. Can't say I disagree. Just tell me when we have enough and I'm happy.

Can Holden run again?

I’m convinced that Broom will end her term in indictment. Corruption and stupidity is a bad combination.

I’m guess they can petition to be annexed eventually if the school district looks good.

I live about a half mile inside of the city limits. My daughter is already in middle school now so it probably wouldn't matter one way or the other to us.

I hope it passes though.

That's the new strategy. The HUGE area they attempted first made it very hard to manage. I would almost assume they did that 1st attempt as an experiment to see where the bulk of the support was, then edited the map, which lowered the total number of signatures needed to get this on a ballot. It was purely accidental that the newest spokesperson for the effort came along and boosted signatures and interest by approximately 13% in just a short time. Broome is the best thing to ever happen to this movement.

So assuming this goes to vote one day, who gets to vote on it? the whole parish? just BR? just proposed St. George?

The registered voters in the proposed area. Its no one else's business what they vote to do with their property.

Just those in the proposed city limits.

North br doesn’t get a say. The city doesn’t get a say. The rest of the parish doesn’t get a say. Only those in the proposed limits.

Just the proposed part of St George gets to vote on whether it becomes a city. A new school district is voted on by the entire parish.

I’m also in no mans land: unincorporated and not included in the St George current map. Hoping to be annexed in later.

I would think the people that live in the proposed boundaries are the ones to vote. Maybe, some one on the board from Central can weigh in?
