those 2 right there, along with participation trophy so no one ever has to lose or fail at anything, is why we have a generation of 30 yr olds with the emotional state of 5 yr olds.

What if I can do maintenance on my car and house, like to hunt, can cook a bit, and am learning to code?

This BS is being pushed on us for one reason, and that is weak (and I don’t necessarily mean physically) men are easier to manipulate and control.

I don't think one article means "it's being pushed on you". The journalist in this deal made a really poor argument. Leave it at that.

No I can attest to that. I work some people that are incapable of breathing without instruction. I won’t see most, but I’ve seen enough.

But it isn't just "one article".

This "one article" is a symptom of a much larger cultural rot/War going on in the country.

This isn't an outlier, it is a summation of the cult-like beliefs of certain people in this country.

what do you do to prepare yourself for this? Are you training or something? Serious question.

Did some stuff in high school so the basic technique is there (I hope), to me it's more about just working out a little and staying in shape, obviously I couldn't beat up some mma bro or whatnot, but I'd like to think that I'd have a chance against the average raging drunk or tweeter that would want to fight someone who isn't threatening them.

On fighting, fighting isn't good. People who get in a lot of fights end up messed up or in jail. I've seen friends walk that road, and it has a lot of negative consequences.

That said, knowing how to handle yourself in a situation that could involve physical violence is still a valuable masculine trait. There are a-holes everywhere, and they won't all hug it out. Defusing and walking away is always good, but there's nothing wrong with being ready to defend yourself.

So yeah, avoid fights. That doesn't mean you don't need to know how to handle yourself in a fight. Some people won't let you avoid them, and you can get effed up. There's also a level of confidence knowing you're fine in a fight that helps you not be easy prey.

Stupid and/or manipulative people like that author live in a black and white world. Either you’re a “modern” man with all those traits or you’re some redneck, mysognist mechanic.

Truth is the best men are able to be strong, “traditional” men who act reasonably and respectfully while not being a piece of shite. These “best” types of men have existed for centuries. Soy boys didn’t invent them or discover them.

1. Hunting should be replaced by cooking

Why not both? I love cooking, I didn't grow up hunting so I don't hunt now. But part of the reason I love cooking is from going to friends houses growing up and eating the dishes their dads cooked with what they killed hunting. Duck, rabbit, squirrel, deer, all fricking delicious.
