Everyone who is in a position of power in BR would be perfectly fine with all college bars going out of business. I doubt they do anything to stop the violence above what is being done

Nothing progressive will ever happen in Louisiana with the idiots they have running things.

Lower the expectations. I got it. I’m just wishful thinking.

I’ve been pushing my kids to go out of state to go to college and get the hell out of Louisiana. 14 year old wants to go to school in Colorado. The other day, my 9 year old told me she wanted to go too.

A colleague of mine heard about the problems on campus last week. He will pay the out of state tuition for his daughter to attend bama (12K extra) rather than attend LSU.

I would like to hope that my kids would have better judgment about hanging out in Tigerland.

Same here. I lived in varn villa on brightside and had friends off of Alvin dark. I would walk home alone at 2 am and I was a 120 lb guy my freshman and sophomore year.

I lived in the heart of Tigerland in the 1980’s and the tradition was to get hammered, leave the bar at 2:00am, stumble into the 7-11 for a Totino’s Party Pizza or worse, and then walk to the apartment. Sad to hear what the area has become.

In the 80’s, there was a good bar scene up Highland. Rising crime incidents kept a lot of us away and those places eventually went out of business. The police don’t want to babysit a bunch of drunk college kids. As soon as they are adequately staffed, BRPD will return to Tigerland to run DWI sweeps.

You gotta be a different kind of stupid to rob a college kid leaving a bar. How much money do u think he’s got on him? I’d be lucky to leave Fred’s with $5 for Taco Bell in 2003.

Someone attempted to rob me in Tigerland 20 years ago.

Someone successfully burglarized my apt one day though... I wasn't home, of course.

Wasn't LSU developing the property across from the rec soccer and rugby field/track for student housing? Why couldn't they do the same for Tigerland?

Because section 8 housing makes a shite Ron if money for the owners. The owners let the place fall into disrepair and still make tons of money off the government. That’s why

I hope he is okay.

It about to the point the only viable solution is to flatten that place with a bulldozer.

It’s insane these thugs are such pansies. They sneak up and knock white men out from behind, take their stuff, kick them while they’re down, and run off. What happened to the good ol days where nobody gets hurt if you give them your stuff?

The city needs to man up, and that means the mayor needs to support the cops. We are short 70+ cops.

The city needs to do their job and fix street lighting. Private businesses do too.

People need to clean up their neighborhoods literally and figuratively. Clean up trash of all kinds.

It's actually a decent piece of property. The problem is that all of those smaller complexes are owned by different people/companies so buying them out would be challenging.
