You can join the military at 18 but not allowed to drink until 21 years of age. We turn around and let a bunch of 16 year olds drive a two ton vehicle on a major highway. What am I missing?

Keep playing on your phone while driving and you won’t have to worry about us old people

I don't think you realize that 65 is far earlier than many begin to slow, even in the least. Athletes may not be the best example as wear and tear does age many prematurely...still ex-QB Joe Theismann is over 70 and even with that horrible old injury could take over half the guys on this forum.
Saban aand Bellchick will both hit 70 fairly soon, I think they may be alert. Howie Long is not far from 65 and I wouldn't want to scuffle with him.. ..not for even a minute.
There are some 65 and over that do slow but I know my Dad at 65 could run an 8 minute mile any day of the week... and as a mentally sharp, corporate businessman... had few peers. Gary Patton ran a 5.29 mile at 71... so, anyone here at any age....??? These may sound like exceptional examples but I think the OP would be surprised at the overall competence of the demographic as a whole.

The worst drivers I have seen are 35 and under
Posted on 2/10/20 at 6:34 pm to deathvalleyfreak43
Actually, younger people are worse drivers.

Some are, and even younger. We took my Dad's keys at 81 and honestly looking back it should have been 6 months to a year sooner. On the flip side there are ppl driving well into their 90's and they are fine.

I see why someone would want to punch you in the face.

We took my Dad's keys
One of the toughest things we had to do. Not that his driving was that bad, we were concerned about him losing his whereabouts in BTR. Dementia sucks.

Bruh, both of my parents are almost 70, and would work circles around your tubby arse. So no, they shouldn’t have their licenses taken away. But I second the young girls with cellphones comment above. It’s ridiculous.

My dad hits 64 this year and regularly drives about 1000-1500 miles a week. I check his Life360 driving report occasionally and his top speed is always around 87.
If you tried to take his keys away at 65 he’s stomp a mud hole in your rear.

Between services like Uber and the upcoming wave of self driving cars, this problem will take care of itself in 5-10 years.
Lol. People have been saying self driving cars are just “5-10 years” away since 2012.
They may make up 5-10% of vehicles on the road... 30+ years from now.

Was a cake walk compared to when he finally had to go in a nursing home. Last thing I ever wanted to I am still wracked with guilt over it. But it go to the point I couldn’t take care of him by myself anymore. It took his doctor telling me that I couldn’t do it anymore before I was able to do it.
