To the OP, I say you are an idiot. Age has nothing to do with driving abilities. Lots of youngsters drive dangerously and the texting generation are the biggest hazards on the road. I'm almost 60, drive 5 over the limit on interstates(and in the right lane unless passing) and use my blinker when changing lanes. Never been in a wreck, so why should I lose my license?

No, and I'm not close to that age.

When I am close to 65, I'll still say no. When you are, there's a great chance you'll say no, also.

At the very least they should have to go every year to the DMV to take a competency test in order to keep it.

I'm all in favor of having the elderly having to go to DMV with eye testing etc every two years to renew license once they hit 70.

My parents are in in their 80's and can't see shite. They'd probably be declared legally blind (no racist jokes) but they are still driving themselves around slowly. They shouldn't be driving at all, especially at night.

No way would I get in the car with them at all these days. They constantly backing into stuff and that sort of thing.

They should be tested and given restrictions if ness. tbh they probably worse than texters and drunks on the road. Only difference is they usually max out at 20 to 30 mph on local streets and are too scared to get on the freeways at this point.

So why are you letting them continue to drive if they aren't safe to be behind the wheel?

Drivers age 65-69 have the lowest accident rate of all drivers. While the rate rises after age 80 they are still safer than those 16=29.

Should people under 20? If you look at statistics under 20 is more of a threat.

I guess that's better than your next topic... "Should people over the age of 65 be euthanized to save the state money?"

The answer to both is no. Who the eff are they going to be 'ride sharing' with? What kind of public transit are you getting out there in the country?

Post less or breathe less.

They should have required retests for 17, 18, 19, 20 more than those 65+

Look- you shouldn't be driving 75 in a 45 anyway, baw. High speed has more skins on the wall than slow. Fact.

Well, I think voting rights should be taken away from anyone under 25 years old. These decisions are too important for immature people to be involved in the process.

You do realize full S.S. retirement age is over 65? Many of these people still work.

My guess is that you are very young if you think the "elderly" bad drivers start at 65.

"Should people the age of 65 or over have their driver's license taken away?"

As long as someone 65 or older is not allowed to practice medicine, nursing, law, architecture, engineering, law enforcement, firefighting, welding, auto repair, along with thousands of other jobs.

Definitely not allow them in a grocery store line checkout. They cannot figure out how to use a debit card, pin, or how to pre-write a check.

Now what am I missing?

I think that depends on the person's general physical and mental health. You sound like a Socialist. That's the way they think about everything.
