Isn't 50% of violent crime as a general category committed by black people? This is a small percentage (criminals) of a small percentage (AA's as a group) committing a very disproportionate number of the crimes.

But there is obviously a big problem clustered that needs to be understood and corrected when a segment from a minority population is responsible for 50% or more of all violent crime. There's also not much discussion about the need to not physically challenge a police officer - raising the stakes can be a police mistake but it can also be a joe on the street problem. If joe doesn't understand engaging in physical combat with a police officer makes him or her reasonably fear for his/her life then he doesn't understand he is risking his life.

RE: BLM certainly there are some bad police but for the most part they don't seem to be killing people out of proportion with what the crime statistics tell us we might expect. If twice as many white people are killed by police than black while the black population (as a category, not individuals) is responsible for half of the violent crime it kinda seems like too many (white and black) people are being killed by police but it doesn't seem disproportionate in the way I might have guessed.

The sad thing is that you only hear about the blacks who are protest all of this shite, etc, but there you never hear of the many black people who realize the problems and who hates the fact that the actions of some, who get attention because they are the loudest, strengthen the stereotypes people have.

Gator doesn't have a clue. Do you think the cops are stopping the old black couple leave church on Sunday morning just because they are black? If a cop pulls over a black person for speeding and it just so happens to be a black guy with his kids who doesn't try to make a big deal out of being stopped and complies with the police, do you think that guy will have problems... Just because he is black? No. But if they stop someone who is black, who feels the need to escalate the situation, just like if a white person does it, there will be a problem.
