''I mean to each his own, something I wouldn't do,'' O'Neal said on the show. ''I don't really have a say on it but I would never do that. My father was a military man and he protected this country – uncles are in law enforcement, they go out and work hard every day. Just, you know, there are other ways to get your point across.'' O'Neal, who will be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday, made a point to question why Kaepernick hadn't taken an active protest stance prior to now. ''Again, my thing is, you have to enter onto the scene one way,'' said O'Neal. ''People like Muhammad Ali and Bill Russell, they were one way their whole career. You can't show us something and then go to another just because of certain issues. ''I'm aware of all the issues, but my question is how come he didn't do it last year or how come you didn't do it when you first entered the NFL? Again, I don't know Colin, to each his own, it's his constitutional right to do that but I would never do that.''

You are one of the few posters that, if I met in person, I would enjoy punching in the nose.

I'm so proud that Shaq is a great representative of LSU and Louisiana in general.

I love The Big Shaqtus and hate Kaepernick but this is one of the dumbest comments Shaq has ever made.....and he has made a lot.

Maybe you should work on growing up. You sound more immature than Kaepernick.

So American of you. I'd like to see you try. Maybe CK wouldn't be speaking out if there was actual accountability with regards to the "justice" system but there's not. When exactly is the right time to speak up against issues like police brutality? NOW. Americans are 8 times more likely to be killed by a cop than a terrorist. Hundreds of unarmed Americans have been executed in the streets by cops who then face minimal if zero accountability for these deaths. Every time a cop is killed in the LOD it makes national news and donations are taken and we're told how much a hero he is no matter how bad a cop he was.

What about Kelly Thomas, Oscar Grant, etc who are killed and only a blurb and their past is ripped apart looking anything to be used to assassinate their character Where's their justice when their killers are "tried" in the very kangaroo courts they work for by their friends and peers who conduct their trials and investigations? Look the system protects cops, we see it everyday.

Black Americans make up 2% of the US population, yet are 9 times more likely to die from a police officer than any other demographic. If more people like Colin Kaepernick sit and demand action it will eventually arrive. ALL Americans should be held accountable by US law. If you grant a certain subset of the population special immunity and powers from the very laws in place, what's the point of having these laws?

If you look at most of American policies throughout US history you'll see that CK is right. Minorities have been oppressed and in many ways destroyed, whether it be treating women and minorities as property, racist phrases/propaganda for minorities, the destruction of families by the introduction of drugs into low income neighborhoods, the War on drugs and judicial sentencing against minorities, the burning of black Wall street and like minded neighborhoods by white Americans, the KKK, Jim Crow, the Indian Removal policies, internment of Japanese Americans in camps during WW2, Attitudes towards Muslims, Hispanics, Asian Americans, etc etc.

America has a disgustingly dark and racist past. Ignoring that past or White Americans acting like that time is over is disgustingly absurd and arrogant slap in the face to Americans everywhere, because racism is not over. That's like a German telling a Jew to forget the Holocaust or get over it because was 70+ years ago and now they're rich.

The more crimes you commit the more times you are likely to be involved with the police. God damn Shaq gets it and I disagree with him on most things. Why are you so stupid?

Who are you to dictate when the right time to say something is ok or not? How arrogant of you.
