That "killed while unarmed" is a toxic stat.
That tells the reader nothing of the encounter. If I'm unarmed, beating the shite out of a cop, and trying to take his gun, is he not allowed to take lethal force against me?
Those cops have no idea if someone is armed or not, but if they reach into their waistband during a tense encounter, then they leave the cops no choice.

I live in Baton Rouge. We had 6 cops shot, 3 fatally, over a POS felon pedofile with a gun that resisted arrested was shot.
I know 2 of those cops personally. One non fatally injured. The other, Nick Tullier, is still on in life support and will likely not survive despite all hope and prayers.
Don't defend these criminals that have been shot by cops. Michael Brown's hands weren't up. Alton Sterling was a thug piece of shite that resisted arrest...there is a reson the DOJ sealed his autopsy reports.

Eh is that a bad thing? This board's views on minorities, women, and the raising of children are very disturbing and I often wonder if they're trolling but I live in the south and sadly these views persist a lot. That's not to say that the South is bad, it just needs to step into the 21st century WRT to Drugs, equal rights, and changing bigoted views.

The south is far more integrated than the rest of the country and, talking to people I've worked with from the northeast, far less racist than people like to believe.
