So your saying that someone that lies all day every day is just as bad as Hitler?

We all carry the disease of sin so yes. This is actually a good thing. Rather than view it in the sense you posted, view it as even someone as bad as Hitler can be saved. No one is beyond saving.

Another solid post. One of the reasons we left our non denominational church is because we felt like they were leaning towards not standing on the truth. (Doctrine) It seems like they valued community over truth. It's a shame because they really did a great job of welcoming all that walked in the doors. But at some point the truth has to be taught while also loving everyone.

I think that's a sad reality we are seeing. There is so much pressure to seem non judgemental that believers have been neutered from speaking the truth at times. Like I said earlier, a major part of that resistance is that people generally hate to be held accountable. They want to live as they feel and not ever be told that they could be doing something wrong.

Parkway and 1st Baptist, am I right?

So you aren't a sinner?

I kige this.
It's not just moral and spiritual matters either. Look at the reaction scientists get when they publish a study warning people not to eat certain foods or engage in certain activities. They get accused of being killjoys.

Difference between being a sinner and living in habitual sin. It's the same reason a pastor would be fired if it's discovered he is Tiger Woods lite. You can't blatantly and unrepentadly live a life in sin and expect to be in a leadership position.

What if he just likes dudes but doesn't do anything sexual with them?
Posted on 3/23/15 at 7:14 pm to TheIndulger
If he had sexual urges for people of the same sex but cared more about his relationship with God rather than his human sexual urges, I'd applaud and admire that person for their faith and dedication. Like I said, I'd only be upset if that person was actively engaging in homosexual relations.
I have a buddy who is a celibate homosexual man and he's the volunteer coordinator for our student ministry. Nobody has a problem with him but everyone knows he doesn't partake in homosexual relations.
It's not just homosexual either. The guy I referenced is named Trevor. If he got caught having gay sex, he couldn't be VC anymore. Same goes for me. If I got my girlfriend pregnant or was caught having sex with her, they wouldn't let me volunteer there either.

It's all good. All those horrible things he thinks about people isn't as bad as thinking about banging dudes.

We wouldn't have this problem if we would just shoot all these damn gays.

Once again, Big Ed hits the nail on the head. He gets it - too bad so many don't.
Jesus is love; Christianity is love. If you aren't loving, you ain't doing it right.

Yes. Sin is sin; but grace still abounds.

I hope you give birth to a gay son that you love.

Yup. Basically sin is wrong no matter what it is. And you're either right or you're wrong. There is no in between. That's why God doesn't weigh sins. It's either wrong or its not.

Kinda ugly to say the guy's name.
He has an obvious crush on the dude, IMO.
