re: Ole Miss Mod: "LSU's planned pursuit of Lane Kiffin"

Lane has done well with the portal, but cannot get the recruits needed for a Ship in Oxford.
Yet Ole Miss is ranked in a playoff spot and LSU, UF, Auburn, and all of the other would-be suitors are not.

Kings were happy to not have to answer to corrupt popes in the aftermath, but that is not what started The Reformation.

Reformers like Martin Luther challenged Church authority, and many rulers saw an opportunity to seize Church lands.
Kings later capitalized on the events, but the reformation was based on church doctrine. Your own AI copy and paste tells you this.

 This is a wild fantasy.
The Catholic Church was building the Vatican and was running short on funds for this elaborate project. Pope Leo X had a great idea to get funds in to keep the project going - sell indulgences.
Luther protested these actions and the Church expelled him. Many years later the Church ultimately incorporated his reforms.

Is that how you interpret it?
Well it isn't an interpretation, it is the basis for original sin - man believing that he can be like God. By saying you control your fate is you saying you can be like God.
quote:
Even Protestants believe in works
There is nothing to believe or disbelieve about works, works are evidence of faith. However, evil people will do good deed and "good people" do bad things. Good people is in quotes because literally everyone believes they are good, but no one lives up to the glory of God. For that - thank goodness it is faith and not works.
No one said you are Satanic, we are brothers in Christ despite our differences.

So your position is that Christ wasn't enough?
And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness. – Romans 4:5
He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit. – Titus 3:5
Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. – Galatians 2:16
Not a result of works, so that no one may boast. – Ephesians 2:9
But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace. – Romans 11:6
Who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began. – 2 Timothy 1:9

Kiffin is not coming to LSU. He will definitely pretend it's an option to have LSU miss out on a target though.
Kiffin would've come here when we hired Kelly, but now that he has his family all together in Oxford and they all love it there the timing just isn't right. Maybe in a few years he'd come to LSU, but not right now.

James 2:24 "You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone"
Works are evidence of faith, not a requirement for salvation. That is what that quote means.

dismissing "works" as a duty as a Christian.
Salvation and duty are two different things. If you believe that you are saved through works then you believe that you are in charge of your own salvation and not God.
