re: Rivals article summed up in a nutshell what has been LSU's recruiting Issue - The First Cut
To be honest looks like we are still lacking these big guys who have the size, strength, toughness and drive to make impacts as freshman and soph on the OL/DL.
 Freshman linemen rarely have the size, strength, toughness, and drive to start and make an impact anywhere. It’s not ...

re: How hard is it to switch to the spread (serious question) - The First Cut
Which is what I thought. Somebody said it's just an older form of it.
The spread is merely 3 or more receivers that spread the defense out, moving defenders out of the box. Most people today call RPOs the spread, which is a variation of the spread....

re: How hard is it to switch to the spread (serious question) - The First Cut
WTF do we have?
Not much, hence 100+ ranking in offensive production. But, I do see help on the horizon. This line will improve with the experience they've gained this year and another offseason with Moffitt. Burrow will be improved next year. RBs will be a big step up with tra...

re: How hard is it to switch to the spread (serious question) - The First Cut
In fairness, we don't have the right players to run our current scheme.
The OL has struggled mightily this year to be able to effectively run a pro style offense. But, we simply aren't built for a spread with power runners, tall outside receivers, and a QB that never keeps the ball...

re: How hard is it to switch to the spread (serious question) - The First Cut
You need to recruit the right players to run it right. We currently don't have the QB, slot WRs, or RBs to run that offense....

I didn't hear anything in that clip different than the status quo. There was certainly no re-affirmation. ...

re: Running back rotation next year - The First Cut
Amazing how many people here really think CEH is just not good
CEH is good. He's just not up to the talent level we've enjoyed at LSU for so many years. This year is the weakest RB group we've had in a very long time. If ever there was a year for a young RB to step right in and tak...

re: Is there a place for Brossette in the NFL? - The First Cut
BEST TRAIT – Contact Balance WORST TRAIT – Speed/Burst RED FLAGS – None Nick Brossette is a one-speed, power back best suited for gap/power concepts in the run game, but capable of inside zone if called upon. He’s not going to be an ideal feature back at the next level but Brosset...

re: Running back rotation next year - The First Cut
Pretty sure Clyde will start off as the #1 back next year
No way this happens. CEH was fourth team as a freshman and couldn’t unseat a career fourth teamer this season. Emery is your new #1, the battles will be for #2....
Charles isn’t a first year starter Brumsfield isn’t a first year starter They played worse those year than last year when they were first year starters.
Brumfield has missed half the season with injury. Charles is out of position at LT. everyone else is first year. The line will...

You’re seventh in the playoff rankings now and should be better next year. So, yeah, 2019 looks good....

re: more bad news for the E & O haters - The First Cut
OL won’t be the concern next year that it is this year. All of these guys playing now will be better next year. The 2019 class has a huge haul of OL and it’s possible 1-2 could crack the 2 deep. ETA: Plus the redshirts this year will help next season....
in between bashing the team for 8 months, he predicted a 10-2 season. Dont worry, he covered all his bases!
The is the worst RB and OL rosters we’ve had in over 10 years, but we need excuses for being 7th in the playoff rankings....
Well no, not until we drop a game. Then all of the excuses will come out.
Yeah, LSU needs a bunch of sad arse excuses for turning a projected 6-6 team into an 8-2 team. :casty:...

re: more bad news for the E & O haters - The First Cut
You do realize that this will put holes in the “talent” argument now right?
Who cares about a no prize winning argument on a message board? Winning games is what matters. The 2019 class looks to be injecting some much needed offensive talent to the roster to help achieve that....
