OP: You hope they change their mind? Why don't you change your mind and be gay for a day. Go ahead, do it. Don't say you can't because you just said it was possible. You think you are the open-minded one but you have a LONG way to go.

I'm late to the party, but I wanted to add this:

Telling anyone that they don't belong at church or can't come would be the equivalent of telling a gravely sick person that they aren't allowed at the hospital.

Jesus came for the sinners. He'd be more likely to not associate with the church leaders who made that "rule" than he would be the gayest person in town.

Jesus loves gay people. We're all "sick". We're all sinful and no better than anyone else.
