Extremes aside, I kinda understand how yards can get out of hand, especially for old folks. As you get older, urgency for a lot of stuff just goes away and the next thing you see is a yard completely over grown. Yeah, this is an extreme.
I think he mentioned it was in Oklahoma so it gets a very long growing season.
A story barely relating to this is when I was at a national meeting once an was showing bonfire pictures down at Lutcher. Some dudette from California completely lost her crap because we were destroying the forests. I attempted to explain that most of that wood was from "trash trees" and served no purposes anyway. That didn't help a bit and enraged her even more.
Fortunately, I had a southern reginal manager who tried to calm her down, telling her, "Karen, he lives where things grow so fast, that if he doesn't mow his yard in a month, a timber company will be sending him offers."

He doesn’t mow them for charity, he mows them for social media hits where he makes a good living
what a terrible human being

If they don't hit all those stumps with triclopyre, it will 3 times as many knee high stems sprouting up in a year's time.

Love em or hate em, this is why HOA's exist.

Gtfo. Where did I say it wasn’t real? I said he isn’t doing it ‘for charity’. That video has over 3 mil views and he has 3 mil subscribers. He’s making a hell of a living on YouTube ‘mowing for charity’. That doesn’t take anything away from him doing the job or anything.
It’s no different than any other social media theme that goes out to ‘help people’ in some sort of niche way to then post it on social media to make money.

People act like the act of filming this content isn't work in itself. Setting up, moving cameras constantly, getting drone footage, making sure equipment isn't stolen while working etc. Not to mention hours and hours of editing.

So what’s your beef with it? You apparently have one. I donate monthly to three charities. I deduct the contributions from my taxes. Am I wrong for doing so? Does it lessen my donation or am I only donating so I can have the deduction?
I don’t know what you’re trying to accomplish with your posts.

It's not a charity. Yes, he is doing a good deed but being compensated by Youtube instead of charging someone. YT pays between $0.02 and $0.001 per view, so he easily could have made five figures on one video, even after ads and "editing" which for these types of videos is just uploading the entire clip and doing a voice over with minimal work, even for someone whose job is mowing lawns.
There is nothing wrong with the hustle, but please do not think that his videos are indicative of him being a charitable/good person. With the digital following he has, he come to any abandoned property, film himself work, and make comfortable money without ever having to ask someone for their business.

I dont have a beef at all, I’m saying he isn’t doing it for charity he is doing it as a job to make content for his social media to make money.
If I did Bum Cuts and go meet homeless people and video a makeover for YouTube, am I doing ‘charity’ or am I doing it to make money?

He’s one of my favorites on youtube

He started doing them for charity. Then started video'ing them to help cover the additional costs. Now the youtube income allows him to do a lot more yards at no cost than he used to.

No. He only does houses with owners as he always gets permission before touching anything. He isn't just going up to houses in disrepair and start working.

No doubt it has evolved to become very profitable, but it started out innocently enough and with the right intentions. No harm in any of it. Nothing wrong with being rewarded for doing something nice.
Has he at least switched from implying its still him the work solely for charity to in some manner thanking and letting his viewers know that it’s their support and/or support of any sponsor of his videos for helping him to be able to do the work on these yards?

This is a lie. I have seen him and others who copycat from him who do vacant houses. Maybe he doesn't anymore but he has 100% done vacant houses before.
Some of the houses in some of the videos had a notice of foreclosure on the doors and windows too.

Is this the guy who click baits with
“Neighbor called the cops, you’ll never believe what happened next”
And all it is, is the cop comes ask him what he’s doing and then leaves.
I don't think so. I've watched numerous SB mowing videos and haven't seen him do that. Watched a few other guys tik toks that lead with the title you mentioned or "You won't believe what the neighbor said to me!!!!????" and it is just a neighbor saying thank you or something at the end. So lame.

Many of those houses are in foreclosure, and he is actually taking eventual work away from crews who get contracts to clean up and maintain those foreclosed properties. My crews have done many jobs in the same or worse condition than the ones on his channel because there can be some legal delays until a lender clears a house to be worked on during pre-foreclosure status. Those jobs are large revenue jobs for people in my industry and he's just taking them for views on YT.

Surely you don't actually GAF about the incredibly small amount of work he is "taking" away from businesses.
But you're probably right about a lot of the homes he does free work for is actually just a favor for a bank and not a homeowner. But if he admitted that he wouldn't get the views and subsequent $$ from youtube.

Amazing how nature just takes over after dwellings have been abandoned...
There was an old house in Lakeview known as the Lakeview Haunted House that two sisters lived, which was the house they grew up in. The house was built in 1926, and became deteriorated in the early 70's. Vines almost completely covered the house, with its reputation, it eventually became an attraction to see. It was on the corner of Milne and Porteous, after both sisters died, the city eventually tore it down.

If it makes you feel better more power to you. I’ve done plenty of charity work in my life and I’ve never posted edited videos on social media about it
