They block it off pretty good with concrete barricades when they are not working on it, I didn't pay too much attention but it was at least 2 levels of barricades. The kids had an actual ladder at one point, but it broke, then they turned a section of fence into a ladder... and it broke.

Unfortunately it has not caused an increase in Uber fares. There were quite a few who got a ride from that intersection to go around to Tigerland though, just normal Friday/Saturday night rates.

I don't know why they want MORE cops, they already routinely have 4-5 patrol cars, now there is no where for them to park, where they parked previously is now the only way to turn around to get out of Tigerland.

There are an obscene amount of restrictions you must abide by when building next to a railroad, one being no work can be done while a train passes.

But they’re not building a new bridge They’re replacing an existing bridge. How many times a day does the train pass by?

I don’t mean to be unreasonable, but it seems like six months- IF they are actually done on time (lol)- is a pretty damn long time. Even with weather delays, if they actually work 5 days a week (bigger LOL), it seems to a layperson such as myself that They should get it done sooner.

Buts it’s Louisiana, so I’m sure working efficiently or diligently isn’t a priority.

Idk but here in northeast Ohio I watch them take down and put up this huge high way bridge on 90 and 271 anyone from around here knows what I’m talking about it’s huge… took probably a year or so, couldn’t believe they did it that fast, they worked year round day and night.

Why? Our top-notch students made the decision to do something stupid. Nobody's fault but their own.

Whatever happened to personal responsibility.

Future looks bright with these future flagship University grads.

Summer of 2022?
What could possibly take so long to replace this bridge?

I bet if this was outside Southern, Sharom Brooms would have every Tom Dick and Harry w/ DOTD out there bustin arse to get it fixed asap.

Some kids are probably going to get hit by a train before it’s all said and done.

That happened a few years ago. Some baw passed out drunk on the train tracks. He’s lucky he only lost a leg.

That is a much bigger crossing than I remember.

BTW - anyone know when they are going to finish widening Nicholson between Brightside and LSU?

As many of you may know the bridge that leads into Tigerland currently known as the Bob Pettit Boulevard Bridge is temporarily closed leaving this beloved, high traffic area with only one safe way in and out. Due to the lack of access into this area and the safety of patrons being compromised, we decided to create a GoFundMe to help build a pedestrian bridge for Tigerland so that we can safely bring the fun back into the area. This pedestrian bridge has been long overdue, so let's make it happen. Our friends at Bud Light have decided to be the FIRST donation of $5,000 dollars! Join in and help us make this happen... Leading you back to your local watering hole safely! #BLBuildThatBridge
