Couldn’t the owner give a different hourly wage to his better servers over time? Or give bonuses to their best servers?
If they don’t take care of their valuable people they will leave. It is how the market works.

They're complaining because they have to pay taxes on that 30/hr. Those tards love that non-taxed cash tips.
I pay taxes and they can as well. So I never leave a cash tip.
And they want student loan forgiveness.

Are you fricking retarded? Serious question as to how disconnected from reality you are. That’s more than most nurses and teachers make in my area to bring me food and drinks.
all of those underpaid nurses and teachers can get a job at casa bonita if they want

Making $500-$600 a week part-time sounds pretty good to me. @30/hour after taxes working 20-25 hours a week. Even with inflation thats not horrible. What if people don't tip shite on a short shift?

$13 - $15 an hour with tips before.
Considering it's almost impossible to get out of a restaurant for less than $50 (2 people), a good server will usually get a 20% tip. If they have an average of 3 tables 30/hr is less money.

You would have to have tips still involved or go straight salary with benefits. Our culture doesn't work that way though. We've got a large group of lazy and giving them too much might as well be like UBI

Axios Denver reported that the Casa Bonita restaurant initially offered jobs to servers and bartenders with hourly wages ranging from $14.27 to $15.27 as well as any tips they could collect.
Employees who were hired through those contracts were then recently called into a meeting where they were told they could either sign the new $30 an hour contracts but not take tips, or quit.
I guess a lot is missing between those two paragraphs.

Who makes more in tips?
Faulty premise. No one is just waiting on a single 10 top

I can assure you of one thing. A sever at a Texas road house on an hourly salary will not work as hard if they know the money is already there. You get much better service from a person who relies on tips.

According to the people this decision affects, not enough to lower their wage to $30/hour.
