An RN gets overtime.

That’s more than starting pay for an RN.
Not exactly apples to apples because servers are not getting benefits like health coverage and retirement.

Shut up fool, in this area it is.

I know plenty of nurses that don’t get benefits.
Posted on 7/1/23 at 1:51 pm to DCtiger1
Ok, sucks for them.
None of this is relevant however. The base salary of nurses and teachers have nothing to do with this issue.

Maybe in your backwoods corner of the state, which is completely irrelevant to metro Denver Colorado btw
I guarantee the average new rn is making more than $30 in any of the Florida metro areas

Of course it’s relevant. Part of the issue with being paid hourly only is taxes, which they don’t have to pay on cash tips. Unless you work in a high end restaurant you aren’t making 60k plus a year that’s just nonsense.

Your area is completely irrelevant

And you’d be wrong. I wouldn’t consider the Florida panhandle to be backwoods.

No, it isn’t. An RN’s rate of pay in a random geographic area has nothing to do with a business in Colorado changing their business model to pay their employees under market value.

What is the market value of a waiter in said area in your expert opinion?

What they were making prior to the change in policy - which, according to the servers, was more than $30/hour.
It’s not my opinion; the free market doesn’t care about opinions.

Yours is irrelevant to me, sweetheart. I don’t give a frick about your area.

The outlet says they spoke to employees who asked to remain anonymous who said the new contracts would provide more stability at times when the restaurant wasn't full but would represent a decrease in total wages if the Casa Bonita was packed with paying customers leaving tips.
Looks like it could be higher OR lower but sure continue to speak meaningless words like shite falling from your arse

How much value is really in taking an order, bringing food, and/or serving a drink?
Around 20 % …. Give or take
For you. Interesting how a generation ago, that number was commonly accepted at 10-15 percent.

Yeah the chilis servers would jump on $30/hr but a server at Tsunami or some other uppity place would riot. Knew a gal that raked in $300-$500 a night

Service industry people are notorious about lying about how much they make. Servers there are not making that.

Do you understand what the phrase “total wages” means?
