So how do these millennials manage to survive without knowing the most basic of household skills?
According to the Mirror, “one in three admitting they would ‘Google it’ and one in five would log on to YouTube for advice.”

Sounds like a testament to shitty parenting.

Im not sure how to clean an oven. I assume you just spray some oven cleaner in there and scrub it.

at 22 I didn't know how to do most of that
obviously I could have figured it out pretty easily and did, but at that point in my life I never had to learn how to do those things

I'm surprised 2/3 know how to cook a roast chicken dinner. I'm 35 & have only done that once in my life.
I'd google how to do it.

yeah the vacuum thing I could understand. I havent seen one that used bags in years. As far as cleaning I know my oven has a self clean button. But manually I assume you just spray some stuff in there and wipe it down?

This should get the millennial hater crowd fired up.
Grabs popcorn.

Bad parenting. baby boomers are by far the worst generation. fricked everything up.
Posted on 6/17/16 at 12:58 pm to tke857
why are people on here so obsessed with "society being doomed" and arguing about generations. it's fricking weird.

Never knew 10%-20% was considered "many". Must be millennial math.

Necessity is the mother of invention. Don't know how to do shite around the house? Sounds like the kind of people that would find spending a car note on a robot maid worthwhile.

In college toward the end me sand a few buds lived together in a house off campus. I learned how to do all the little things by trial and error. I knew how to wash clothes, but cooking and properly cleaning takes effort and practice.

I could do all of the domestic stuff when I was 12. I cooked our family dinner pretty often when I was 10.

Id imagine that 20% of people in any walk of life don't know how to do many things. This is really strange survey and not indicative of a crappy generation. Every generation since the beginning of time thinks the following generation is dog shite

Forget that stuff.
Speaking as an old fart in the workplace. How in the frick is it that the generation raised on technology is FAR more infrickingcompetent on computers than my generation?
I get that they don't necessarily use Word, Excel, PP, etc etc etc while goofing off on smart phones.
But shite. When I graduated high school, my pocket calculator was the most advanced technology I'd ever worked with.
My generation had to ramp up to this shite. Then, I get these 20 somethings who can't put together a decently formatted memorandum.
