He is a realest. Life is tough. If you can't take the loss don't have a pet. Death is a necessary part of life.

Are y’all considering counseling?

I bet they have some dead doggy support groups.

Man y'all are some cool motherfrickers. So edgy with no emotional attachment to your pet.

Where I draw the line is this bull shite thinking that a doctor has to do it for you. You wanna die? Go ahead, but do it yourself and don't drag other people into it.

Are you forgetting about the terminally ill who may be paralyzed due to their condition who have no way of committing suicide.

Take a guy who has the same condition as Stephen Hawking had and needs 24/7, around the clock care to simply exist. These folks have no such option, but may not want to continue living/existing like that.

Not as cut and dry as you are making it.

That's a ridiculous statement.

Yes, that is absolutely awful, but still doesn't make losing what is important to you any better.

They can both be heartbreaking for different reasons.

Life is cruel and beautiful.

My wife and I lost one of our dogs 3 weeks ago. We are still very sad, I loved that dog, and I think about her daily.

One of our Brittany's travel with us everywhere. A simple run to store no matter how quick. Only time the pup stays alone are work days.

That bitch is glued to my hip when I'm home. Just having her by my side just watching, following the mower or messing around in the shop makes keeps me upbeat if I'm frasturated with something.

Sorry, but I came here because it hurts. We loved our dog very much. He was part of our family. He slept in our bed and went everywhere with us. You could've ignored this thread and left it alone. Instead you and others are being complete douchebags about this. Just leave this thread and quit being an arse.

You are correct. My wife and I don't have children, our pets are very important to us. I don't equate it to the loss of a child at all, but it is the loss of a child to us, and ultimately that is all that matters.

Found out yesterday that a neighbor has been dealing with a pretty sudden extremely severe medical issue with spouse. Midish 30's and i don't know all facts but the future appears extremely bleak. Kind of ruined the day for me thinking about this situation and probable loss for them. But hey, we got people on here seeking attention about the loss of their 10 yr old pet that lived a full average lifespan for the breed dog.

Yea, sorry about that. It's never an easy thing to do even if its the right thing to do. I don't even like thinking about it.

You get another dog because eventually all the good memories overtake the pain. My wife and I had to put down our nearly 13 year old black lab on January 7th, after discovering a massive tumor in his abdomen, and I still get choked up sometimes when I think about him. It gets easier, I promise.

apparently if you don't have a story about your kid or mom dying, you cant feel sorrow. Who knew?

It is so tough.

Took 4 months before I got another boxer.

I think is always somewhat easier if you have another dog at home.

I can't imagine coming home to any empty house

FWIW in 2015 I had to put down my 11 year old Doberman then less than 3 months later I had to put down my 6 year old Akita who suddenly came down with stomach cancer. It was a sad time but I got over it pretty quickly. I had both of them cremated and hiked up to their favorite trail on the mountain behind our house in CO and spread their ashes.

My Mom just found out her bulldog has cancer. Nothing they can do because of where it's located. Mom took her home and is just letting her eat whatever she wants and do whatever she wants. Gonna be hard on her when the time comes in a few weeks.
