My wife has a 2012 Sorrento. Few issues with it.

1. Cruise Control: sometimes you press the button and it comes on, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes after it comes on, it’ll let you set the speed, sometimes it doesn’t.

Same with my 2014 Sorento. Cruise buttons stopped working, so they replaced the steering wheel under warranty. Right before the warranty was up, the volume buttons on the steering wheel stopped working so they replaced it a 2nd time. Now out of warranty, all the buttons on the steering wheel don't work and the horn is 50/50. Luckily it's paid off and I like having no car payment over functioning buttons.

Kia 2016 vehicles =/= Kia 2021 vehicles

To be fair, I remember people saying 2012 KIA vehicles =/= 2016.

shite if I know lol. I think just powertrain. I thought it was B2B. Was expecting it to be covered unless it was a gasket leaking and then was still gonna be pissed cause there’s no way that should be leaking this early

Save yourself some pain and get a Consumer Reports subscription. Quit buying off the bottom of their list.

0-60K - bumper to bumper except for wear items like tires, brakes, etc.

60-100K - engine and powertrain

Trade value sucks on a Kia because it’s still a Kia.

Between histories of design / service issues and low end clientele buying them, resale is shite because of the perception that the cars will be shite.

Not that Honda or certain other manufacturers are doing themselves a lot of favors these days but Kia is down there with regards to quality.

My service guy hates working on KIAs.

Mine said something similar. He said Hyundai suspensions and axles are junk, but the engines are solid.

The cruise, AC, roof & door have all been deemed “nothing wrong” twice. Dude this morning actually asked me “exactly how are you pressing the cruise button? Are you holding it or pushing it?”. I knew this was coming cause the shite was working this morning lol

Don’t those tellurides cost like $48,000? That seems insane to me.

Except when you have a 2016 Tuscon and the engine, radiator and fan belt all fail simultaneously. And of course it would be at 62,000 miles, just over the warranty. Just a mess.

My 2014 Hyundai is at 70k miles and I've never had a single issue.

Knock on wood.

That’s half the price of a Toyota Landcruiser

They each own a portion of each other, so they are close to being one company.

My parents had a first generation Genesis full sized sedan. It is made by Kia's giant sister company (Hyundai) as an executive sedan in the Korean market and exported to the US as the Korean alternative to Lexus and Cadillac.

That Genesis was a reliability nightmare. I wouldn't touch Hyundai, Genesis, or Kia after that.
