You should have posted your thread in the Political Talk forum because it's filled with nothing but people who bitch and moan all day and they would have probably welcomed you with open arms over there

Waiting so long for the update is pissing me off to where maybe you deserve to get fired

Hell even then if you don’t lie about it you’re probably good. I’ve watched people do some stupid shite and not get fired.
And to whoever said “if you aren’t getting yelled at it means you aren’t doing anything important” lot of truth there.

I got fired for cognitive reasons. It was a kick in the gut. They recruited me & I was good at what I did.
I told them I was under a Dr's care, having some issues & they still pulled the trigger. A friend from there told me they were saying I was on drugs. Hell, I wish that were it. I got diagnosed with M.S a couple months after.
Too bad for them as I count their money.
Get into see a neurologist if you can see your own cognitive abilities decline.

I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May last year. I’ve been through chemo and an 8-hour Whipple surgery - October 31 last year - that altered my life forever. After the surgery, I began to notice brain fog and just general incidents of confusion and memory loss. Not dementia-level but just forgetting tasks and forgetting conversations I’ve had. Not sharp.
I’m on short-term disability til end of this month but if I’d been working full-time this past year I know I’d have screwed up a lot. It worries me that this may continue. I’m 61 but I can’t retire just yet. I’ve explored going on SSI disability since it’s almost automatic with pancreatic cancer, but my income situation messes that up. Can only make so much.
Didn’t mean to make it about me, but wanted to let you know you’re not alone. Hang in there, man. Short of embezzling money or sleeping with the boss’s wife, you probably still have more value than you think. Gonna be okay.

Diseases are not inherited. This is the biggest lie that worthless doctors have ever perpetuated. Because your grandma had it and your dad may, this does not mean you will. Diseases are cellular or degenerative. You’d be better off improving your diet, taking some supplements, getting some sun and staying active, and keep your brain active by learning new things. All of these things will go way further than silly cognitive tests.
I will bet you live pretty sedentary lifestyle. Or as Michael Scott would say sedimentary.

Lmao wut??
This will get buried in this worthless thread, but that is one of the most idiotic things I’ve seen posted on the OT in nearly 20 years. And that’s saying something.

Glad everything worked out for you. Too many men don’t own their mistakes these days. We all make them. Best to just own it like this.

I'm glad it worked out for you.
Now... find out why you've been slipping- there's a lot of good info in this thread for you to explore.

Anyone else but me just pissed at the lack of details here?

I didn't get to read what you did, but when we truly care about what we do, we trend to see thinks worse than they actually are. Glad you didn't get canned.

We discussed the issue, what happened to cause it, what we need to do moving forward to make sure it didn’t happen again and that was it. Back to work.
Good leadership!
Now, back to work.
If serious enough where you thought chit can was reasonable, recommend the following:
Put together 1 page action plan (lessons learned) to remedy or prevent in future. Keep / Start / Stop doing format is pretty solid. Use this in your coaching sessions (Sales, right?) with your GM. Bring in evidence points of how you have remedied the root causes and have controls in place to prevent in future.
Why? 2026 performance might be cooked. You are doing this for 2027 forward bonuses, incentives, etc. Every leader loves a “lessons learned” moment they can hang their leadership coaching on. You’re that now for your GM. Don’t miss the opportunity!
Good luck.
