Alabama Rolls Past Mississippi State For Dominant SEC Road Win

No. 7 Alabama stayed perfect Saturday with a dominant 56-23 road win over No. 16 Mississippi State in Starkville.

The Crimson Tide jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, helped by a Dijon Lee pick-six, and took a 28-17 advantage into halftime. Alabama then pulled away in the second half, scoring touchdowns on its first two possessions of the third quarter to make it 42-17.

Quarterback Keelon Russell accounted for four total touchdowns, while freshman running back Trae'shawn Brown scored twice on the ground. Rico Scott also caught two touchdown passes from Russell.

Alabama's defense made life difficult for Mississippi State quarterback Kamario Taylor, forcing multiple turnovers, including Lee's first-quarter interception return for a touchdown and another interception by Caleb Woodson in the third quarter.

Mississippi State wide receiver Anthony Evans III was one of the bright spots for the Bulldogs, scoring twice against the Crimson Tide defense.

The win improves Alabama to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in SEC play, while Mississippi State falls to 4-1 and 2-1 in the conference. Alabama has now won 17 straight games in the series.
