Furthermore, their business eats up tons of bandwidth and requires continuous use

I'm already paying for that bandwidth!!! And Netflix is paying for the servers and the connections to the ISPs

If I pay an ISP to provide me with a 50Gb/s connection it should not matter how I use that bandwidth.

Take something that uses less bandwidth, and there's a hell of a lot less competition. Say Amazon, if I can't order from my laptop well the app on my phone is not that difficult. Not to mention, some of these companies like Netflix, Amazon, Walmart, etc. are not exactly small players. So what if Walmart teams with Cable and Amazon with Phone providers?Crap like that happens all the time.

I just think the free market would rebound a hell of a lot better than doomsdayers think it would.

Do you really want to live in a world where your access to the best prices and services is limited by the device you are using at that time?

If the water company refused to allow his toilets to flush he would just shite his pants

Exactly. And that's the reason it won't change. You are paying for the bandwidth now to use services they can't afford to stop. So you stop using Netflix, you reduce your bandwidth and what you need them for and therefore their income.

Are you communist? This happens constantly as is.

You know how many people use a Roku to watch crap for free that they would pay to watch through Cable, Netflix, etc.

You are way too deep into your feelings on this for me to think you are trolling at this point.

You really need to rethink how a utility should work. Bressus and Co. have given you plenty of analogies that work in this case alone and yet you seem to not be able to grasp the concept at all.

I hope that Entergy decides tonight that you shouldn't watch tv or have AC and cuts your power due to "usage." Oh wait, THEY CANT JUST BECAUSE.

Net Neutrality is probably the biggest issue in this country that the general public doesn't understand.

Imagine if the government allowed certain car brands to purchase lanes on the interstate

Lol this is ironic because anyone who starts an argument in favor of SO-CALLED "net neutrality" with the fast-lane analogy clearly doesn't understand the issue.

That happens all the time. You think there aren't power outages? Is electricity a guaranteed right? Internet sure as hell isnt.

Guess what, if my cable stops working I get on my phone! It's crazy! If my electricity goes out, I light a candle and read a book. It's crazy! I stopped using satellite tv because it sucks in the rain, should that be guaranteed too?

Read some stuff on the issues people are having trying to go off the grid. The government/ utilities are fighting back because that's going to cause some major issues. So please don't act like a utility is a guaranteed necessity that everyone HAS to have that is controlled by the government.

Solar is a very real thing for the future, that's not what this argument is about and I'm no greenie but what happens when 20% of the population no longer wants electricity from the government?

Breesus has given a bunch of false analogies. None of the bullshite scenarios he laid out existed before the FCC rule was put in place last year, and none of them are suddenly going to appear if it goes away.

To say that there aren't options in rural areas is not necessarily true. I do agree with net neutrality, though. But, if it goes away and competition is what drives what websites are available, then there will be options available in rural areas.

That's a weird think to say considering Comcast was caught doing it.

Never forget that Louisiana Senators John Kennedy and Bill Cassidy both sold your privacy down the river and voted to allow the sell of your internet history. These guys knew full well that 99+% of Louisiana citizens would be against this but they took money from ISPs and voted to allow the sell of your private information. Vote both of their asses out of office at all cost to send a message to the next a-holes who think about selling your arse down the river.

Net Neutrality is for whiny pu$$ies who don't understand basic economics. You want free shite? Move to Venezuela.... Oh wait.
