The amount of trolling on the last 3 pages is impressive.

They can rig them out of a man basket and pull them where they’d like them to go. But that requires a frick ton of exposure to the workers.

That building has some nasty, nasty, nasty stuff in it. The remediation cost - which would need to happen before it could be reused or even torn down - is well into 8 figures.

I'd like to read more about that. I've always seen that building sitting off by itself but didn't know the backstory. What's the name of that building? I'll google it to find out more but if anyone has a link to suggest, that would be cool too.

Someone may have asked the question in a legit meeting but there’s essentially no way the whole thing could be mapped, and rigged for a demolition in a dense historic urban setting in the next 36 hours

Yeah, Plaza Tower has an interesting story. It was one of the first skyscrapers in NOLA, and they thought Loyola was going to be the main street of the CBD, but it turned out, everyone else built on Poydras.

Plaza Tower.

Used to house a bunch of state agencies until they wanted to move to the newer, cooler Poydras corridor and faked a bunch of mold allergies to get out of their leases thus dooming the building.

Not in commercial construction. Drywall guys hang the drywall. Painters tape, float, finish, and paint.

I've built all over the country and that's mainly the case in the south and a few other states. Most of the states everywhere else in the country, the drywall sub also tapes/floats and the painters just do minor touch up/sanding and the painting.

Yesterday evening I did notice a big crane piece staged on a street across Canal. I’m not sure if they are planning to use it anytime soon or if that was part of a crane that was rushed down right after the event.

I have to compliment NOPD for being all over downtown directing traffic and working the lights to help with traffic flow. They were even doing it on Poydras this morning

Looks like Kailas is a shady guy. I wonder how much of the blame will fall upon him.

Probably a lot, with a bunch of groups trying to offload a lot of their own frickups onto him.
