Not in commercial construction. Drywall guys hang the drywall. Painters tape, float, finish, and paint.

Cy Geary. They’ve been around a long time.

Yeah... King is the name of the drywall subcontractor on the project.

I hope they didn’t use the load bearing system designed by the Pace Group (local structural engineer) for this project.

King has been around a long time and a damn fine contractor.

And I’ve done it for 50 years and never once picked up taping and floating. Painters always pick that up in their scope.

Just depends on what part of the country you’re in... here in TN, the framer almost always finishes... painter will do minor prep, but that’s it.

I’ve heard of Pace but don’t know them. I haven’t worked much down there in the last 8-10 years except for a couple private clients.

Are you hearing they implode the whole thing on Friday? Or just the cranes?

They are really anxious about the cranes if we get 25-30 mph wind Saturday, with cranes in compromised state

There is absolutely no way the entire thing gets imploded on Friday. It would take weeks to place explosives properly in that fricked up building

I could see the cranes coming down depending on how they decide to do it

Is that it? IF Govt went away, all would be well?

Agreed. Cranes might go pop but no way entire structure does that quick.

It seems like once the cranes are no longer an issue, 'maybe the urgency dials back a bit?

I hope if that's what they do, there's some spectacular footage of it. I'm damned curious how they can drop them without hitting something with the jib or counterweight. They're gonna come down like 40 tons of bricks.

One of you knuckleheads needs to be down there filming.

With that much weight, the height and their position I’m not sure a crawler can swing inside a city street with the configuration they’d need. I’d have to lean on Mammoet on this one.

How do they pop the cranes and know where it will land? I guess direct it toward the building, and if the building falls, oh well?

I don’t want money or fame. I know it could mean something to those families if their loved ones were found. At the same time no one would have sadness if I was not found.

I’ll donate a hard hat. Of course it’s a butchers hard hat but a hard hat nonetheless.
