I worked at the one in Metairie many many moons ago. Great staff, managers were dicks though. Learned A LOT about service industry life in those months. Learned a lot about customers. The chefs used to make some pretty sick lunches for the folks working doubles (smoked chicken wings with a pickle juice reduction sauce anyone?). One of them even gave me their recipe for potatoes au gratin which I still have to this day. Best part was the staff used to go to this bar right down the street on Hessmer and the waiters and runners used to buy me beers ( I had just finished high school lol) no questions asked.

Honestly, I saw firsthand how people get caught up in that life. It's pretty romantic (like, in the literary this shite sucks but it's awesome sense). Kinda sad about this news.

Capital Grille and Eddie V's are good restaurants. The brand won't be ruined.

I'm pretty sure the BR location is locally owned and operated

It is. Funny watching people melt on Instagram though.

I don't know why the article (at least the one that was sent to me) used a photo of the BR location and mentioned nothing within it about the BR location not being corporately owned.

Anybody else notice that the brothers really like Cheddar's

Yes. And Pappadeux’s too. And Pappadeux’s has gotten pretty pricey too, especially for what amounts to a Cajun restaurant.

I mean I would assume Ruth’s Chris can attract higher quality employees than Olive Garden but idk

Truth. For the food quality and the overall quality of the restaurant which is pretty smelly and sticky the last few times I ate there, their prices are offensive now.

Meh, I'd like to think there are better steakhouses in Louisiana than a chain restaurant, no?

Yes. Charlie’s, for one…

It'll be an improvement. Now they'll have money to clean the butter soaked carpets.

Fleming's (owned by outback) has a much better atmosphere. It's the best steakhouse in Metry. Yes I know "best in Metry" is bait for jokes.

Let's see some good ones now baws...

Meh. Last two times I'd been to Ruth's, it was decent and all but not really worth it.

Ruth Chris was already the Chili's of steakhouses. Who cares? BTW, Olive Garden and Longhorn are not terrible restaurants. They are just chain restaurants so it is what it is.

It’s like I live in a completely different timeline and universe than some of y’all.

The BRs Ruth’s Chris has the best steak in BR. That is objectively true. This thread boggles the mind.

They will destroy the Ruth’s Chris experience.

The McDonald's of higher-end steakhouses. Ruth Chris is better than Longhorn and Outback, but not by much.

The best item at Ruth’s Chris is the stuffed chicken breast. Not a joke. Otherwise, there’s at least 20 other restaurants I rather go to before going to Ruth’s Chris again.

Did The Capital Grille and Eddie Vs go down hill?

Ate at Capital Grille in Chevy Chase March 30 - party of 12 - have been going there when in town for the last 10 years - 5-10 years ago, always excellent - more recent trend has been good, not excellent - so yeah, that location is going down.
