Owners of Olive Garden buy Ruth's Chris... It was good while it lasted I guess.

No way they don't ruin the brand.

The Ruth’s Chris Steak House chain is being acquired by Darden Restaurants for about $715 million.
The original Chris Steak House was opened on New Orleans' Broad Street in 1927, and it was acquired by Ruth Fertel in 1965.
Darden, also based in Florida, is acquiring all outstanding shares of Ruth’s for $21.50 per share, a 34% premium.
"Ruth’s Chris is a strong and distinctive brand in the fine dining segment with an impressive history of delivering elevated dining experiences to their loyal guests,” said Darden CEO Rick Cardenas said in a prepared statement Wednesday.
Darden Restaurants Inc. owns Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Yard House, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, The Capital Grille, Seasons 52, Bahama Breeze and Eddie V’s.
Darden shares were flat Wednesday.

I'm not a huge fan of Olive Garden, but are they known for being poorly run?

Might be a good thing they may do an all you and drink martini special and endless filets at Chris’s

Yard House is a decent beer pub type concept. The rest of those are pretty crappy.
They will destroy the Ruth’s Chris experience.

Breadsticks at Ruth Chris will cost $5 a piece.

I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad meal at any Ruth’s.
Even during restaurant week, which sucks most everywhere.

The last and only time I went to Ruth's Chris in BR it was drunk legislators being douchebags as far as the eye could see. Decent steak but there are lots of other places where you don't have to rub elbows with some jackass from DeRidder who just bought his first seersucker suit and thinks he's some kind of power broker.
