The governor's chief of staff sent an email to the Audubon Golf Trail courses and said golf courses can remain open.

Our country club isn’t open for gold and has turned into an impromptu walking track for women with strollers and kids it seems

They closed down the parks and running trails where I am. It makes no sense at all.
Of course, people are ignoring it because there aren't any gates.

Golf courses are still open here. Many made changes though (pay online now, don’t touch certain things on the course.. etc, etc)
Parks and hiking trails all still open as well. If you are being smart about it (no groups, etc)..nothing wrong with getting outside. I’ve gone hiking and rode my bike everyday the past few days. Need it to help relieve stress and anxiety.

Went to local course down the road yesterday evening and club house attendant said they were going to remain open under the "essential outdoor activity" classification. Hope that's the case because I will be back daily.

If they close marinas and boat launches I'd suggest it's a good time to buy a fishing kayak.
You can launch from pretty much anywhere and fish areas that you wouldn't usually explore in a big boat.
I'm going try a new small lake east of Houston this evening, Lake Charlotte.

We've been doing a ton of outdoor activities and I've noticed nature is really busy right now. There's a lot more people now at my usual nature haunts than there usually are.
I have heard talk of some places closing parks and other outdoor activities. This just tells you that there's no logic or reasoning behind what they're doing. They're just flexing on us and pushing us to see how far they can push us.
It almost feels like a test to see how far they can go before we start pushing back. I think it's a dangerous game they're playing because at some point people are just going to start openly defying their government. Once that happens it's hard to put the genie back in the bottle and when things return to normal people may start refusing to do things like pay income tax and drive the speed limit. Usually when people get a taste of real freedom it requires tyranny to rein it back

Yes. Many are. Didn't some assholes close thekr beach. How the frick do you close a beach? It doesn't even have gates. What if some dude pulls up in his boat and gets off to take a stretch? You going to arrest him or run him off?

I've taken the bike out of storage and I've been using that significantly. It helps a lot being able to disconnect from devices and getting out of the house.

Well, my mistake. Just goes to show how stupid this order was. All other shite that's indoor or outdoor amusement was closed, but not golf courses.
I mean, I understand why, but seriously, how idiotic is that? This order was completely pointless.

dude, go look at the Miami spring breakers if you want to see why the beaches are closed. No way you can expect to leave the beaches open without having some asshats show up and form a crowd.

well, yeah essentially. whatever enforcement agent is on site can tell you to leave and you'd be expected to comply.
Its pretty much the same way cops make people leave any place, isn't it?

And you think that's common and or normal? Why not use the jackboots to just break up the larger crowds? I go to the beach several times a year and I go to several different beaches and I never see anything like what was in those pictures. That was fricking spring break.
The wife and I just went to the beach at Bay St Louis last week and on a beach stretch of about 400 hundred yards it was my wife and the kids and I and then one little 3-person group of girls.
Do you just enjoy your dear leaders making irrrational decisions on your behalf? You're that much of a rule follower?

My course is still open. Here are the steps they have taken.

I'm 100% on board with social distancing, but Lafreneire Park kind of jumped the shark. They basically shut down the entire park. I get closing playgrounds, dog parks, etc.., but they banned people from the green spaces. The only thing open is the walking track which is less than 6ft. wide.
