I agree with others, chewy.com is the way to go. We give our dogs Chicken Soup For The Dog Lover's Soul.

My 17 yr old beagle is my second dog to be on Purina One Lamb and Rice. She still has a nice shiny coat and great teeth for an old puppy. Pretty healthy except for cataracts that have made her blind. She's gotten a little pickier lately and I add a scrambled egg to her food at least every other day. Previous dog was a wire haired terrier that made it to 15.

Pure Balance a high quality dog food that is only sold at WalMart and is half the price of Blue Buffalo, Royal Canin, etc. It has the same ingredients and is ranked similarly on Dog Food Advisor. $20 for the large bag vs. the $40 Blue Buffalo I used to buy.
Nothing wrong with many of the other high end brands either, but they are double the price.

We feed our dogs Merrick grain free. About $55-60 a 25 lb bag. They don't sell it at PetSmart but they do sell it at Petco.

I've had good success with Wellness and Natural Balance. At Petco and Petsmart. Cheaper on Amazon Prime.
Blue Buffalo got busted a couple of years ago for lying about the ingredients. I know the label was bull because their so called grain free formula made my dog itch like crazy when I gave him the same formula as that of the other two brands.
Main thing is look at ingredients. You should not see corn, wheat, flour, or any grains in the first four ingredients. If you do, don't buy it regardless of brand. Period.

I have two with allergies, and feed Natural Balance L.I.D. Sweet Potato & Fish. It's available at PetSmart for about $55, and if you order from Amazon Prime, it's around $50.

Taste of the Wild
I'll sometimes use Sciene Diet to switch it up, but mainly taste of the wild

Merrick, canidae, fromm, and wellness have all been mentioned and are good.

I use Pro Plan too, and the vet says he looks great. As a bonus his pee doesn't kill the grass like with other foods we've tried.

If she's energetic and gets a lot of exercise, ProPlan no doubt. Nice dog
There are different types of ProPlan depending on dog. I feed my Pointer ProPlan Sport 30/20. Amazon Prime 37.5lb bag for about $45-50.

The salmon stuff from members mark at sams is really rank (in a good way) and the dog loves it. Her coat is very soft and she has lots of energy.
Is about $1 a lb.
