We use Fromm for our cats. One of our cats has an allergy to grain/corn filler and she breaks out and loses hair. We've found Fromm to be the one that works best for her. It's also better for her chronic respiratory illness. Less snot and sneezing. I'd imagine their dog food is just as high quality. The cat food runs $45 per large bag.

I buy Fromm's Grain Free Surf & Turf. It's currently $69 for a 26 lb bag autoshipped from chewy.com. Yeah, it's kind of expensive, but I have a lazy Sheltie who doesn't eat much (120g a day).
He used to eat Taste of the Wild.

Ask Daryl.

Purina 1 Lamb & Rice.
Most vet approved, less allergic issues, fixes gastro issues.

Saw someone on the first page say diamond naturals. Just ordered a forty pound bag of that yesterday on Amazon. 40 pounds for 29 bucks or 31. Free shipping. Grain free. Ill be sticking with it if the dog likes it.

weve been feeding our dog the rachel ray nutrish, seems to like it. its alot easier to find in store than most of the other brands on here without going to a feed store.

Keep an eye on diamond. I thought I read where some big name brand bought them out and changed up the recipe for the worse and customers aren't happy

Fromm Family Gold - grain free large breed puppy
One year old male GSD. Small family company in Wisconsin, one of their claims to fame is no recalls ever. I get mine from a mom and pop pet store here in Shreveport, but you can get it from Chewy. I pay $45 for a 26 lb bag - believe it or not, cheaper locally than from Chewy.com.

I switched to Victor after a thread like this 4 years ago and have been extremely happy ever since

I'm a big fan of grain free, but at a minimum would avoid corn, wheat and soy as m2pro said. Dogs should eat meat, not cornmeal.
I personally feed a prey-model raw diet, but some high-quality grain free kibble brands that I will feed my pup in a pinch (and that my mom's GSD is thriving on) include:
Orijen
Taste of the Wild
4Health (at Tractor Supply, very reasonably priced)
Grandma Mae's Country Naturals

I am one who spoils his dogs and does a lot of research on the best food to buy. We don't mind spending money to get good quality food.
We adopted two dogs and Fromms has been a godsend. Dogs are healthy weight again and their coats are very beautiful. We started with the fromms gold which is a healthy grain version then switched to the red meat based food, no grain. Dogs love it and we couldn't be happier.

Yeah I tried blue buffalo. Dog ate it for like a month then seemed to eat more grass than dog food. Went with a couple other brands trying them out but been with Purina pro fir a year now and he loves it. Eats it all no more grass and his weight is under control. (He's 11)

We used Blue Buffalo. But primarily buy Taste of the Wild at Tractor Supply. It is cheaper but rated the same.
